Thanks for the link - I love steampunk style, very me! i am going to make some steampunk jewellry maybe I will incorporate some of the leather??
Steampunk is very me too! Hubby recently started making some steampunk jewellery. Mostly cufflinks using old watches. They're not bad for a beginner in jewellery designing!
Forgot to say, leather would go well in the jewellery. You'll have to have a look on some steampunk blogs to get some inspiration. There are so many different ideas out there!0 -
Thats my evening planned - research into steam punk jewellry! I salvaged a load of broken jewellry from my charity shop and saved it for a rainy day, its now pouring!Clearing the junk to travel light

Nope, sparkle still missing and am having a day strictly on the couch. ME flare-up because I was doing too much . Went yesterday to have a shot at spinning, loved it, and came home with a huge ball of cream colours soft beautiful fleece to play with, and a spindle. Not even opened the bag yet, need re-charge my batteries first !
The guild seemingly hire out spinning wheels to members, she thought for a token £5 a month, so if I got really into it then it is possible to do .0 -
Love the sound of the spinning - you got a good haul there mardatha! I'm waiting for an appointment with a consultant to see if I have M.E. - hope yours isn't bad and a day on the couch helps.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.
Whenever I hear spinning mentioned I think of Rumpelstiltskin and spinning straw into gold. Now that would be hardcore old style!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

OH says loads more rasps by the side of the back road...wants me to go a walk tonight or tomorrow with a bag and pck them. Yhis time I'll shove them in the freezer and save until I have enough for a jar or two. Noticed next door has a plum tree, and will lookup price of them maybe get one next yr.0

I know you can grow an avacado tree from the kernel inside by cutting the stone open - heavy knife - hit with hammer to crack it - so I wonder if you can do the same with a plum tree! or a cutting off theirs. Worth a bit of research.
Enjoy recharging your batteries Mardatha - take cuttings of the raspberries later in the year and see if they take too! (if you get enough can you post me some - I would love soft fruit but can't afford any.
I can tell you what happened not long ago when they didn't know what Me was - in the mid 80's I was so ill my body began to shut down, they gave me 6 months to live unless I had major surgery, after the op I decided i was ok now (literally 15 mins after coming out of theatre) so did far too much and the result was, from what I gather now, ME. I t took me 2 years to get it out of my system and went through hell. It was diagnosed towards the end when doctors started to admit it existed. It did come back now and then to some extent but eventually it did go away. Most women like us on here work far too hard whether SAHM or working Mums and sometimes your body just tells you its time to stop. of course Im still as dumb as a spanner but if thats the kind of person you are, you learn to stop just before your body runs out of patience. I was described recently as 'driven' by someone I was trying to help and I guess thats a fair descriptionClearing the junk to travel light
