What a strange sensation - Oh yes me and the house are warm - thought I recognised it. Just have one heater on low:T
So my sunshine dance worked for you then Mardatha? I made sure the neighbours were out when I did it!
Ds gets the keys to his new apartment next wednesday so by Sunday my craft room will be re-instated and in full swing and the living room will be empty of craft stuff :j:j i am so excited but crossing my fingers. Our house will be run on a shoestring and the electric meter will S...L...O....W... down once mission control is gone.
Off to Swinton tomorrow on Oh's cricket league business. They pay for the petrol so I can pop in a really good CS down there (its on the way) He does a lot of paperwork for the league obviously for free and if we go to pick stuff up I have to be the muscle as Oh cannot lift anything and the bonus is I get to go somewhere fresh.Clearing the junk to travel light

He is 30 and will miss his laughter and thoughtfulness but not his huge consumption of food and electric. Hopefully he will still ring me from Mr T and ask if I need anything :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

Just been for a mooch round Lidl and got bitterlemon for 19p.Apparently they are selling mince and ready made pastry cheap this weekend.
Went to Cs and got 4 frames for x stitched pictures, a v tech toy for Dgs and a semi precious stone necklace plus a book all for 4 pounds - bargain!
Also went round Swinton market, its another market dying on its feet, probably cos theres a huge Morrisons next to it now! Its a shame because its a lovely community shopping area with just a scattering of people in it, however Mr M was absolutely heaving with shoppers. We need to vote with our feet - for those that can, I appreciate some people need to use supermarkets. But if you have time do shop for some of your food locally. I know only go to the biggies for a few basics that I cannot get elsewhere but I am lucky because I have the time.Clearing the junk to travel light

The house is a pit and we had to have the roast on our laps as my kitchen table is piled high with gardening/preserving books, veg from the garden and general cr*p :rotfl:
Been knocking the garden in to shape as OH has had the week off..he's threatened not to tell me when his next one is:rotfl:
Put up 5 new fence panels and painted the whole lot,old and new in Forest Oak..looks right posh !!
Greenhouse is exploding and beds are nearly all prepped ready for planting.
I have two lettuces (Valdor and Winter Density) almost ready for picking really pleased how they have performed after getting covered in all that snow..no protection..nothing!
The homeguard and anya and pink firs are in sacks in the greenhouse so just got the maincrops to go in now phew0 -
When did you plant the lettuce ?0
-
I started them off in October last year Mar they are both hardy varieties and do well usually but I thought they be dead as a doornail after all that snow but they are almost hearted up now..chuffed to bits!
Might be worth you trying them out up there I have loads of seed if you'd like to try them
Also have winter gem coming ready first time I've grown these and although they look a little fed up right now they're still growing!0 -
I will try them next year for sure.0
