I need to lose weight well thats what everyone says. When i got into my relationship with my partner i was a dangerously ill size 4 7 stone 23 year old i had alot of health problems and i was addicted to losing weight. I am now a size 14 and all my family are saying that i am overweight and i need to loseweight. My partner loves me the size i am but my family are making me feel fat and ugly. Any ideas on how i can lose weight really fast just to make them happy?***wishes people would give advice required on these boards rather than just being mean to everyone ****0

OMG!!! I have surprised myself again.
MASSIVE 4lbs OFF
needless to say , I am over the moon, work has some benefits, the added exercise must have kick started something :j:j:j
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Kirsty, I wouldn't regard a size 14 as being overweight, but again, it depends on your size and frame. There are many sites available that will tell you your ideal weight for your height. I wouldn't take them literally though, I don't want to go down to the weight it tells me. I feel it's just too thin
I don't know about others, but feel maybe your family are being a little harsh on you and wouldn't undertake any sort of diet without medical advice given your circumstances.
Anyhoo, off to work being megahappy :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Crappy STS for me again this week. I need a kick up the bum!0

Kirsty - I wouldn't listen to them, to be honest if you used to be that ill and thin then they should be pleased that you have managed to put wight on, not asking you to lose it again. Perhaps try exercising to get a bit more toned rather than dieting?? Size 14 is a healthy size and if your bf likes you the way you are then who cares what your family think. Just do what makes you happy, don't try to lose weight for anyone else's approval.
Well done Mazza!and Alona you know what we say, a sts is still good, at least it is not a gain
Well, today's WI is 10st4 - I dont usually post my exact weight but on Monday i posted 10st6 as my start weight but I really don't feel like I deserve to count a 2lb loss.... any suggestions?
Shall i just stay zero'd on the chart for a week and have 10,4 as my start weight?? or shall I stick with 10,6 as start weight and log a 2lb loss (even though I didnt do anything and it's probably more to do with the time of day?)
thanks

Hey all after my dreadful STS for the past two weeks i've finally lost some weight! :j
The wii fit told me 2 lbs but the scales said 1lb so my weight loss this week is 1lb
better than a kick in the teeth, and good considering i've spent the week stressed over job cuts, a bathroom leak and more.. tried to cycle to work yesterday to find i have a flat tyre on my bike too
so i'll be happier when ive managed to sort that and literally get back on my bike..
ive lost over a stone now though and my confidence is definately improving, getting a bit of interest from guys too which is a bonus! :T
well done for all your losses and thanks for the continuing motivationxx

1.4lb loss this week which I am ok with as i was focusing hard in july on getting the training back up to speed which I have done, will start to cut back again on the cals now and try to refind the balance point.
As a side note I watched shooting stars last night and omg @ ulricha she looked like a holocaust survivor :eek:0 -
Not sure where I am on the weight chart, being off on holiday etc, but last Wednesday I weighed 75.6 kg.
Today I weigh 74.6 kg.
A whole kg, 2.2 pounds, in a week?

BettyB - I would take 10.6 as your stat weight - that is your starting pioint to this round of weight loss. I wiould not post any formal weight loos until next wednesday i.e. giving your self a good week and 2 days to get on with it and be sure the ressult is a result.
I would also always weigh with the same factors i.e 1stthing in the morning, naked, before any food or liquid has passed you lips. That way you are always comparing like with like. Any weight adding on in the day is only the physical weight of what you have consumed and liquid you are temp stroing: it hasn't had time to pass through you bpody or been converted to permanent fat stores yet.
Kirsty: you family are seriously worrying me: you were dangerously underweight and addicted to losing and know they are telling you you are fat????!!! They sound damaging.
Fortunately the BF finds you are highly fanciable as you are.
I would avoid any 'quick weight loss' idea as that make be a risk to you given your history. Do you eat fairly healthily - not too much junk or boscuits. It is always worth cutting down on them. But don't go hungry, just eat good food. Going hungry is bad for you - your body will go into panic mode and hang on to every ouch of fat it can.
I think the exercise to tone up might work better - you can lose a dress size just with exercise. Is there anything you fancy tryng -it's got to be fun to work!
Go Mazza!:T
congrats to: eric margaret clare (if it i holiday weight and you were straight back to'plan' then it does come off quicker Margaret)
sts for meI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
