I have been doing really well getting back into exercise. I cycled 10km on the new cycle hire bikes in Central London yesterday lunch time - then went for a run in the evening! I am done-in today though!

Are the hire bikes any good? My OH is very excited about using them. I was shocked to see no helmets are supplied (especially surprising in London where the roads are so busy and dangerous!)

Eric: Number 1 or 2 man for me. Anymore just looks repulsive!

Im trying to be good with food today and did ok! Felt so hungry though... think it was the packet of apple i ate after lunch that did it. So far so good though. Although my plan of going to the gym hasnt worked out so well!

Eric - ooh la la! thanks for the linky... my fave was No.3, because No.4 is just too dehydrated really. My BF is a mix between 2 & 3, he hasn't got the lower abs quite defined enough (for his liking), but is he is into the protein shake routine, etc.

Victory - Ola! You knew before you got there what your mum would be like. The reality is that it is a few pounds, and until a week or so ago, you were managing to stay about 7lbs over your target weight. Now, about that turkey neck....:rotfl: lol Enjoy the rest of your holiday, and I hope the diabetes stays OK.

Puds & Vixstar - I am not currently a green oompa loompa, but the physique is pretty close! Tried on a couple of dresses that arrived from Next today, and OMG, they look awful on me, but it's me, not the dresses that are really awful. Got to do my least favourite thing tomorrow, and go clothes shopping. Urgh! Really not looking forward to it.

BB - sorry to hear you're not feeling so good... there are clearly lots of viruses going round at the mo. You can pick up that SW baton when you're feeling more back to your old self. How are the new meds working out?
Thanks for asking re. DS2, he's fairly relaxed back at home now, and has settled into his grounding, which continues until at least Aug. 20th. Unfortunately the fall-out of the disagreement about his no-gigs is still having repercussions between OH and I. It's one of the first times we've not really sung from the same hymn sheet, regardless of whether I conceded to his wishes, and it really has meant a few weeks of me having to wonder whether I am able to raise my boys the way I want to. Generally we have agreed, although some of it is probably both of us bending and bowing to accommodate each other's wishes too. OH is not able to see my point of view at all; as far as he is concerned DS2 was so naughty he didn't deserve to have any concessions, and needed to be punished. I can see his point of view, but I was trying to find some kind of compromise, and keep some positives in DS2's life.
As it is, DS2 got kicked out of his band after missing the 1st gig. He's still pushing some boundaries, but I am able to manage those smaller issues OK, and he's been able to go to his p/t job a couple of times a week, and I've got him to focus on saving some £ to put towards driving lessons later this year when he turns 17. Now comes the job of trying to patch things up with my BF, but it's a worry that it's exposed an issue between us, and it's been difficult to get back on track. I do feel I've been caught in the middle here, and don't want to be put under more pressure from either the children, or my OH, because I try to please everyone. The problem with my DS2 is that he constantly pushes his luck, and just wants to have his own way all the time; he's a detemined but charming boy, and I suspect I am being misled and 'played' by him sometimes too, which is easy to do when you love someone and want to trust and believe them. OH isn't blinded by this love, so he's more capable of being hardline, but that's what parenting does, you sometimes soften. My worry is if something of this nature crops up again, how it's going to pan out. Worryingly, OH's friend has a daughter in the same year as my DS2 at school, and word had got back to him that my DS2 felt capable of splitting us up if he created enough problems for us. You don't know how much of this is just teenage spouting off, or his real thoughts.

For now, the balancing act continues.

    I dont :A not had a bad thing for 30 weeks :A

and its not because I am being a martyr or that I am denying myself things, its the realisation that dieting does not work and to resolve the problem i need to make permanent lifestyle changes, plus the fact whats the point of being good for a few days only to blow it, waste of time imo

and honestly after a month of being detoxed from processed crap, i dont want it

I agree totally with you Eric, I always find it hard to understand people who goto slimming clubs Etc..... Then on the way home get Take aways or chocolate as a reward for losing weight  (I know I am leaving myself open for criticism but it is my opinion)

Also number 2 is more my kind of man I don't like too ripped muscles nothing to cuddle into ;)

-4.5LB hooray!!!Was really pleased especially since hosted a pampered chef cooking party thing on saturday night but managed to save all syns for cider - did not realise how high it was ! - must look at diet friendly alcohol as think its a bit unrealuistic to give it up altogether! Well done to everyone ele as well. Really enjoying following the thread distracts me when the need for cheese arises !!

Well done on your loss :D and well done on finding a way to distract yourself :rotfl:
HI all - just back from a week away in Devon and what a lot of catch-up reading to do! Welcome to all the newbies! and well done all of you for some great losses!

I haven't jumped on the scales yet but we had a very active week -lots of walking, swimming, some cycling (too many hills in Devon!) plus a surfing lesson in Bude in the pouring rain which was hilarious - I was laughing so hard I kept falling off! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:My arms ached for 2 days afterwards - those boards aren't heavy but are a b****r to carry! Totally off-piste on the eating plan but I'm hoping all the activity will have combatted those delicious Devon cream teas:D

I want to know more about the surfing ..... come on spill the beans why were you laughing so much ??? I know what you mean about the achy arms mine normally hurt the next day after :o Glad you had a nice time down my way, and you also now know why I don't do much cycling ..... too many hills :rotfl:

Victory - I hope you don't have any more weight comments and enjoy yourself

Beanielou - glad you had a good time away too :D

Oh you had to mention weigh in's didn't you. I know it's not going to be pretty, but a WW centred shopping list is ready to go for the start of next week (when I've cleared some freezer space as I'm going to incorporate batch cooking too) and I'm about to do the Shred DVD again (cos I really love aching arms and thighs!)

Some great weight losses this week. Well done lads n lassies.

Just done the wee man's bday cake. Mega calorific. Lots of chocolate fingers on it. Did try to persuade him to go for the clown face on a plain sponge (as that's the only thing I can draw and cut out in ready to roll icing:rotfl:) but he wanted to be more daring this year. So we copied one of sary's creations, although, not half as good looking as hers are.
http://www.mazza111.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/piccies/cake.jpg but he was happy with it none the less. Was a different story when we went to cut into it and it fell to bits :rotfl:

Have had a very bad week all in. Had chips a couple of days, and my sister brought a chinese round to share last night. Suppose it's better that we had a chinese between us, rather than one each, but felt mega bloated after it.

The wee man's birthday isn't until Thursday, but we celebrated today as he will be at his dad's that day. So now that the cake is out the way, I'm ready to start again (and again, and again). Will post weigh in tomorrow before work if I have the time.

Looking forward to the weekend. Off to Edinburgh to meet some online friends I've known for years. I will endeavour to be as good as possible whilst away, but needless to say, it will involve lots of beer, and lots of Glayva :D

    Mazza The cake looks great.
AIWITS It's horrible but apparently effective. Its just a basic circuit training session, but only 20 mins including warm up and final stretches so no I've excuse not to do it (most days - a BBQ session tomorrow may well get in the way!). On another threadsomeone is reporting having lost an inch after three days but I'm not expecting that.

Right need to get this confession over and done with...gain 3lb that'll mostly be last weekend and hopefully a little TOTM. This is now my last weigh in until 1 Sept but I will still be around jst not have any scales. Going to measure myself once a week, just recorded my start measurements on the runner's thread. Fingers crossed everything's reduced by Sept.
