AIWITS There are various sit up you can do which tone the muscles but don't do much for the actual fat. Apparently body fat values can change depending on how well hydrated you are ... I think.
  • Things are as always a little hectic here, weight loss is not the top on my list of priorities right now but I am still very concious of what I am stuffing through the trap door. We're off to the hospital tomorrow to find out if the chemo is working, we have everything crossed, the thought of it not working is sending me spiralling ot the fridge, which is nearly empty as I know we're away all week so I can't even calm my nerves that way!

Well done to Eric, getting on those scales is a massive milestone for you!! Keep it up!!

Well done to all the losers and sts's this week, I will be back to join in soon!

Fellpony: Good luck, i really hope the treatment has been working. My prayers are with you.

Eric: So that obviously doesnt take into consideration sex? Because obviously my fat percentage should be higher than a mans anyway... but it still is a bit rubbish that my fat percentage is so high when im not obese or anything...it doesnt make sense to me!!

...don't some people ask personal questions ;)

Re: Green& Blacks chocolate: in Feb I came 2nd in a competition run by Green & Blacks. 2nd prize was a poster. The narrowly missed 1st prize was a piece of art made up out of 700 bars of chocolate! At the time i was miffed that i'd got so close yet only ended up with a "poxy" poster, but looking back now, it was definitely a lucky escape - 700 bars of chocolate, talk about temptation!

it varies not only on your sex but your age, you lucky ladies and your hormones get to have a lot more :p

Fat % is the best way to work out your goal body weight, the problem is its possible to be in suitable BMI range and yet still have to much body fat % because you have lost (or never built up) an average amount of lean body mass. Ladies do not need to go on an intensive weight training course but I do personally believe its important to do some type of core training and build up to at least the avg amount.

Its also critical when you use these types of scales you follow the instructions (eating, drinking a lot, exercise can all affect your hydration levels) and stick to my standardised weighing system.

I weighed myself sat first thing as I just got onto the body comp scales

I was active over the weekend and trained hard, creating a 5k cal deceit (1.7 lb) and i lost nothing :rotfl:
