Shell, you are doing really well with "small" but consistant weight losses. When I say small, I mean 1.5lbs is excellent and a very good amount to lose in aweek. And know you have lost 18lbs which is a massive amount. The excercise will be toning you up and really helping you be healthy on the inside as well as outside:T
Eric - well done on showing your before pics. I too cannot wait for your after! And congrats again on your losses.
neiler, efrieze and melvis: Well done :j.
Mazza - the trouble is with some creams, is they can work well but as soon as you stop they have what is known as a rebound effect, i.e. it comes back worse. The trouble with treatments further down the line is, say light treatmnets:youare only allowed so many in a life time because of the skin cancer risk and as your DD is young, they will be wary of her using her quota up too soon. They were worried about that for me in my 30's!
And with most of the drugs you absolutely must not get preggers on as they damage the foetus. So again, they will be more wary to treat a young woman with them. Some of them you have to wait 2 yrsoff them before TTC. (Not sure how old your DD is). You def need a derm though , so keep following up.
On the website I quoted in my previous post, there is a forum section for young peeps under 19. She might find it encouraging to speak with others going through the same thing.
Sary - dare i ask if your OH has been able to congratulate your ds2 in any way - I know this time last year he was a bit disparaging about his prospects and you told DS2 to prove him wrong. Not want ing to crit your OH, as I am sure it can't always be easy taking on other people's sons though.
Victory, is your Ds1 going on to do a levels or something else?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Ahhh bb, yes we've had 2 courses of light therapy already, but she's too fair skinned. Even on lowest of settings, her butt cheeks got sunburned. We've found the creams are only helping with the scalings, not the redness, I'll try and get her to allow me to take a pic of her worse bits to let you see. She's joined that forum for advice, ty. She's had all sorts of steroid creams, coal tar and bandages, light treatment in the past. But now it's really got her down.
She's agreed to the pics, so will try and get some them uploaded to show you, pretty bad atm all in all.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Great losses peeps & great loss Bb

Aww thanks! I know, I'm glad things are moving again now, its making me happier! Was just worried I had a big plateau, saying that I'm eating like a demon today so that won't help!
I weighed myself yesterday and had gone down 19lbs but when i weighed this morning it was 18lb again so i'd rather air on the side of caution..:A
I'm now having wardrobe drama's which is amazing really! I bought a dress from Asos about 6 months ago, tried it on at the time and nearly broke the zip so hung it up in the wardrobe with tags etc still on it. It's a cotton dress in a size 14 and I wore it about a month ago and it fitted perfectly. I wore it on friday night and my god.. i had to iron it four times before i left the house! Basically as I don't fill the dress anymore It gets totally creased up so i think im going to have to have it taken in or give it away.
I don't think im a size 12 yet though, I bought some gorgeous new jeans from asda last night in a 14 long which fit really well, only £12.50 too a bargain! I refuse to spend too much money on clothes as Im still losing weight and Im going NYC in October! :T
Thanks for your support though it means a lot! xxMortgage free wannabe!:

Wow, lots of great losses and STS's this week, and it's been a bank holiday south of the border.
BB - how did you manage such a great loss, and have a birthday too? Well done, and glad you had a lovely birthday.
*ramble alert!*
Ah yes, OH and DS2. OH was saying only the other night he really wishes DS2 would just 'toe the line' a bit better, not keep undermining any rules, or just plainly disrespecting us as blatently as he does, because OH feels he has the most enjoyment with him, and he'd like to take him out for day trips with him more, and do more social stuff, and involve him with his hobbies, but he just can't while it could be interpreted as rewarding him for the bad behaviour. It's silly things, but DS2 just doesn't seem to think any of the house rules everyone else has to live by apply to him (so he leaves his room in a mess, doesn't tidy up after himself anywhere like kitchen, bathroom, lounge, garden, shed, etc.), he ignores curfews, takes food without asking, takes other people's belongings without asking, invades others' privacy, and so the list goes on....
It's that 'drip-drip' effect of his behaviour that has so much impact, because it's every day, despite being asked nicely not to, or even being read the riot act, he simply will not conform. It creates conflict between him and his siblings, and between us and him too. Balance that with the fact that he's bright, artistic, enthusiastic, great fun, talented, musical, slightly wacky, impulsive, determined, and so on, it would be so lovely if these positive qualities shone more, but they don't, they're completely overshadowed by his negatives, because they're so much more prevalent. It's not just his family, he alienates himself from either, it's friendship groups too by taking advantage of their good nature, or trust. It's not a nice thing to see in someone you not only love unconditionally, but created.
OH has told DS2 how proud he is of his achievements, and congratulated him. I got him a card from both of us which he appreciated, and we've talked positively to him about moving forward from here to bigger and better things. As far as we're concerned, his education now is optional, but he's got to realise it will take a lot more hard work than he put into his GCSE's. My biggest hope is that he will grow up, and grow out of his negatives, and have a better focus for his future. He's quick to latch onto a new idea, and I help him an awful lot by giving him options, but he's got to learn to do more for himself, rather than taking advantage of my good nature. As it is, he's ungrounded again now, so praying very hard that he will keep his nose clean. At least I do now have a bit of back up from a local scheme, although what effect they can truly have is limited, but it's something. He's also got a new job (having left the last one under a bit of a cloud... did I say something about abusing other relationships too?).
My youngest has also started to display some rather naughty qualities during the summer break, which I am keen to nip in the bud. I'm staggered at the appalling behaviour of some of the children of his age, who he mixes with at the park across the road. They can't be satisfied with just playing football or hide n seek, it's climbing onto buildings, and getting up to mischief. He's too easily led, and keen for adventure himself to be safe. The only way I can see to stop him getting involved is to make him stay home, and only have playdates come to us. The kids of today are very different from how we were at their age, and it's not good.:( We were meant to go to Diggerland in Yorkshire today, but as part of his punishment for getting up to no good yesterday we cancelled the trip. Seems rather harsh on his 12 y/o brother though, so we're taking them tomorrow instead. Hopefully the floods of tears my youngest was in all last night, and the sorrowful look on his face today will have gone some way to teach him a lesson. The grounding to the house will stand, until he's older.
Anyway, in amongst all of that, it's a STS for me this week. I'll take that, as it's TOTM, although 5 days late and still waiting for it, but I know it's brewing. I'm wondering if it's my age that my bang on 27 day cycle is now out of whack? Bearing in mind some haphazard mealtimes, and a couple of KFC's last week while on the road, I think that's not a bad result all in all.
I broke the news to OH today that he's on a month's ban of cake/sweets/biscuits, etc., and he looked rather horrified! He's now counting down the days on the calendar until October and cakefest! It was a chocolate house cake for his birthday in Oct. last year, so I'll have to get my thinking cap on about this year's cake.
Some positive news is that OH may have the chance to get a job at a local college as a lecturer. We know the head of dept. there, and he's asked him if he'll do it on a P/T course 1st. Only problem is that OH doesn't have relevant qualifications, but does have a lifetime of experience in the subject (motorcycle mechanics). Fingers crossed it'll come to fruition, and they'll let him take the necessary exams while working. Also, a friend of our's who owns a couple of shops has expressed an interest in helping us invest in a local tearoom, and maybe me and his wife doing it in partnership. It'd be a bit of a dream come true for me, so we're going to look into that too, as the lease is up for sale due to early retirement. Will keep you posted. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
oh dear victory, another nighmare with your mum. she sounds so difficult i wouldn't even know how to suggest you deal with it, and i'm sure you know best by now, but at least you know you are in the right. you should tell her that if you wanted to steal from her you would have done it while you were in her house and taken more than a poxy £20 lol!!
Just had a nice trip to the shops and bought some reduced jeans size 12 that fit perfectly!! still look a bit chubby on the thigh area (need to lose 1 stone to be 'healthy' weight for my height) but they are v trendy skinny jeans with zips up the side so i am well chuffed!!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

ah.... well the secret is, that 9 days ago i started a strict elimination / raw veg smoothie diet to see if I can help my skin at all (a very small % of people it appears do find this helps so worth a shot) and I am so focussed I didn't care about birthday food and I don't eat cake anyway: never liked it:D I'm staggered I haven't lost more actually.
I love the idea of the tea shop -I'd love to make/serve cake to people for a living. Fingered crossed for that and the OH's possible teaching post. Are the quals mechanic related or teaching related, like the city and guilds teaching adults cert?
And yet again, well done for taking the tough stance with poor behaviour: many wouldn't. I think that shows real love personally. Your ds2 sounds like he could achieve alot in the future if he could just curb his less appealing side. So frustrating when someone is there own worst enemy
I would suggest she was slipping in dementia Victory, if she hadn't been like this for years. Still horrible though.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
