Welcome Pinkie, join in for maximum benefits. As you'll see we're a proper mixed bag, sharing our diet ups and downs, as well as lots of other life's adventures. You've done really well so far, and glad your OH is supportive, it's very helpful if they are. Mine is actually quite grateful we're not eating garbage this month. Our packed lunch tomorrow will involve lots of fresh fruit, and healthy sandwiches. Depending upon how late we leave Yorks will dictate whether we need to stop enroute home for dinner, which could be a fast food option.

BB - I hope the new diet has been helping to make you feel better. Someone else I know through MSE has just started a Raw diet to help him feel better with his running training. Let us know how you get on.

Not sure what exams OH will need, we think NVQ's initially. We hope to hear some news tomorrow. The teashop would be a good thing. It's local for me and the family, I'd be my own boss, I won't have to run it alone, and it is work I will enjoy doing. It will depend upon how much the lease/fittings will cost. We can easily get financial backing if the price is right, but I'd like to also put some of our own money towards it, to have a proper stake in the business, which may mean going to a bank and presenting a business plan. At least there are options out there, and we've coped very well with OH being out of work since last year.

Eric - I meant to say earlier how proud I am of you, and how inspiring your journey is proving. I often talk to OH about your efforts, and determination, so even he feels like he's sharing it with you now! :D

Hezza - is there anything we can help you with? If you need a chat, feel free to PM anytime.

Victory - your mum is as mad as two mad things in a mad pod! Goodness knows what is going on in her mind, but it's not 100% right is it? I'd be making it clear to your family that she's slowly going round the twist, and just tell them of all the nutty things she's done over the years, and just say it's her age, try to ignore her, and just say you have no idea what she's doing half the time, but then neither does she. I'd make it clear the blame is with her, but that she can't help herself, and lay it on very thick. The other family members are unlikely to actually discuss her nuttyness with her, but will at least have a believable explanation for how she is acting. Mind you, who am I to advise when I've not spoken to my own mother for over 16 years?!!

    JayII
    - I hope you feel better soon.

Betty - congrats on the size 12 jeans... I don't think I've ever been a size 12, or it was a size that passed so fast I never got to dress in it!

Right gotta get my shower before bed, as we have an early start tomorrow morning. Little one has no idea we're going, so is still under the impression that the punishment has stood. He'll be woken early with instructions to get up, dressed, breakfasted and ready to leave the house by 8.30am... he's not going to have a clue where we're going. I think he might burst when he finds out!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • Hello hello :) Hope you are all well on this fine evening. Wish I could say I was, but I'm still battling with the "man-flu" that I caught from my OH :(

On the plus side, I did have a sneaky peek at the scales and I've lost 1lb in 3 days. Woop woop! Okay maybe not time to splash out on a size 10 wardrobe yet but it's a start :j

eric none of my business but puzzled by something, if the other day you put up your photo and then said you look nothing like that now through the weight loss then why proudly and rightly so have you not put up a recent less weight carrying one? Would you not be swinging from the lampshade with pure pride?:D

im still enormous compared to "normal" people im just not a gigantic blimp any more, people dont stop to take photos any more with that holy !!!! look on there face

the next 56lbs will make a big difference i feel, i will reassess the situation from there
  • Morning everyone :D

Hope the sun is shining where you are ?

Sorry Fred I forgot to mention to add me to the 5lb challenge please. I am a little blonde sometimes :o

Well done on Eric on being SoTW :T and I have my fingers crossed for the loss next week too. That will be such a sense of achievement to finally be able to step on your new scales :j

Good luck with your Q&A today Victory and good results in your assignments you little star :A

We (OH and myself) got the shock of our lives last night as the dishwasher decided to blow up  watching TV and then this almighty bang/pop I think I did actually hit my head on the ceiling I jumped so high :rotfl:

Anyway I am hopefully off surfing later if the dentist doesn't kill me first :( Have a good day everyone x

    Thanks

There not actually new or indeed as good or as accurate as the ones I use, they do however do body composition so it will give me an idea of what my target should be next year

    Hi everyone!

Congrats on results this week, no gainers that's brilliant! :T

I've been straight back into it exercise-wise post holiday with a fab week last week of almost 11 hours total running, hiking, snowboarding, cycling & swimming but not so good on the food front! Had one meal out at a restaurant (rarity for me) and wasn't great at logging my intake the rest of the week. Plus I've been eating a few goodies brought back from our trip.

I should have been more diligent about the eating but I'm back on the case now.

    Keep going everyone! :D
