I am not very good at the law but I do work in Collection (Trade not Consumer though) so know most of the things needed to sort out a problem with payment (or lack of it!)

As much as I would like to call people names in letters I find it just gets people's backs up. Far better to be polite, to the point and factual.

You come across as very 'on the ball' with your letters and it's a big help - many thanks! I get bogged down in detail and can't see the wood for the trees.

Name calling - I do see your point but I can dream! :D They've caused not only me but themselves unnecessary hassle by either laziness or a poor system. Oh well. I'd be tempted to pay (it's a small amount) only that wouldn't solve anything: we would probably go on getting bills ad infinitum till they work out how to delete the account.

Love the way DS is spending this week :T Sounds good fun!

    I think they've enjoyed themselves!

The other DS has just gone off on a Scout camp, taking with him permission slips for scuba diving, mountain boarding (?), rock climbing and some others I can't recall. And to think I left Guides because all we were doing was playing Rounders!

DH and DD are working in the morning, I'm working in the evening tomorrow. Am in danger of forgetting what some of my family look like! Never mind, if the weather's not too stormy I can talk to my tomato plants (mostly called Jamie...) and ignore the ironing pile.

Mountain boarding is kind of the equivalent of snowboarding, minus the snow . A snowboard on wheels, as it were, meaning you can board on a variety of terrain, ie grass, gravel, woodland, etc. I'm sure he will have fun.

Thanks Ani :) - yes he'll enjoy that! He's also doing that thing where they roll down hillsides inside a giant bubble.

I am pracrising being a laid-back parent and said to him 'Oh are you? Well, make sure you wear any protective clothing if they provide it', instead of 'Argghhhh! Do you think I went through labour and sleepless nights just to have you finish yourself off on a foolhardy dangerous sport?!'

Yes, I'm the laid-back parent all right. :D He survived my parenting for 15 years, a weekend of scary stuff won't hurt him!

Did, miggy, did, past tense :rotfl::rotfl:

Don't schools nowadays have a mountain of paperwork to ensure the ( comparative ), safety of your son? I'm sure he will be fine :p:rotfl:

There are some fantastic people out there, who facilitate these sorts of activities.

Work was unexpectedly chilled, thanks Ani. :)

DS's weekend away is actually with Scouts - a really fab troup: they camp in all weathers, live off beans and sausages, get their hands dirty, keep the camp immaculate and the older ones get the chance to do the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. I can hardly speak too well of them.

What's more, it suits DS down to the ground.

However, yes to the mountain of paperwork. I expect they use it to cushion knees and elbows, or make bandages. :D
