Another day, another To Do list. :) Feeling a bit weary actually as I don't seem to sleep too well the night after night shifts... there is a strong instinct to feel guilty about any tendency to sleep! (Really CAN NOT sleep at work, not only because it's a disciplinary matter but actually for the safety of the people I support - but then my subconscious can't shake that off the following night. :D)

    Anyway, back on nights tonight.

Visit Mum (putting it off - no particular reason except that I can't keep it short. She is a terror for finding things that I have to know about before I go, and she doesn't know she's doing it. I can see it, but I don't think she's able to - I think it's a part of her judgement that's not functioning 100%, and besides, I know she's not going to get any other visitors. I've asked Dh to go as I can't do this and the night shifts, and he says he will).

    Water tomatoes etc.
    Clean out fish tank.
Shop for items for dinner if we haven't got them all.
    Ironing mountain.
    Laundry.
Order items for Mum now her card is working.

    Hello miggy,
    Dropping in to say hello.
Just been out to check and the rocket seeds I sowed on Sunday are already coming through. No sign of the flower seeds I planted yet.

Why have three lists when one will do?!

Hello Hovel Lady :) you have me not only dreaming of 1p books on Amazon, but looking for hovels on the Internet. :rotfl:

My basil seeds are through and looking healthy. I love this time of year when everything is growing.

    Lists:

    For us:
    • add clubcard points off receipts to my card
    • Do a bit of a graph to help me understand our money.
    For Mum:
    • set up her bank card DONE
    • bring accounts up to date DONE
    • get all shares documents together to wave at poor bank person who may not know any more about them than I do.
    • (The dreaded one) Get the uncashed cheques together, compose lettes to the issuers and get sent off. Doesn't have to be perfect; the aim is to set the ball rolling. If they need moredetails they can ask me.
    • Order the two items of clothing she asked me to get - oh, and the shoes.
    • Pay her cleaner. DONE

    Visit Mum
    Water tomatoes etc. DONE
    Clean out fish tank.
Shop for items for dinner if we haven't got them all.
    Ironing mountain.
    Laundry. STARTED
Order items for Mum now her card is working. STARTED
    Order book for Mum DONE
Make phone call about her Council Tax DONE

Phew. Though Mum has given me details of three more books she wants! :D Ha ha - I'll pass that on to the library.

Maty, I've got as far as customising the letter about the cheques with names so I think the next stage is to add the cheque details and track down recipients. Tomorrow's job, if I'm alert enough.

Why have any lists at all?

I'll convert you all to managing without lists, frogs and all the rest of it. :rotfl:

Hmmm. What happened to the i before e, except after c, rule? Was spontaneity the exception?

You have probably spotted I can never sort that one out! :rotfl:It applies except when it doesn't, I think. Is the 'spontane' bit the stem, as in 'spontaneous'? In which case the 'ity' is a separate entity. Oh, I don't know! I thought I was quite good at spelling, then I learned word processing and discovered the speller checker and was thoroughly put in my place, from which I have never return to the heady heights (there's another one:D) of ignorance. :)

Haha! You crack me up :rotfl:! Just what I've always wanted - and probably need, if cracked up. ;)

I wonder what a mig welder does? I admit I picked the name because no-one would ever guess it's me... sometimes I wish I'd at least googled it first!

Today's progress... popped into the supermarket on the way home at 7.30 this morning and bumped into DH getting some milk - so I didn't bother buying anything, just got a lift home and went striaght to bed! Accidental money-saving :D but MS none-the-less. :)

Groggy now and could do with some more sleep but had to go and get some (planned) shopping. I've resisted the one and only fizzy drink I really like even though it's on BOGOF. :) I have to admit I got myself two pairs of socks for £2. Do I have enough socks anyway? Yes. Are they in good repair... mostly. Can I find them? No.

I have treated myself to one of my little stash of said favourite fizzy drink (I can sometimes buy the short-dated ones on the market) and it's helping me wake up.

Planned shopping got further expanded (i.e. unplanned :() with a £1 gift for my neice which will get put aside for her birthday or Christmas. They also had a reasonable offer on small notebooks (£1) so I got myself a pack as I had been thinking I need a way of keeping track of Mum's endless shopping! :D I am forever taking notes she's written or thinking I'll remember things, and of course I don't. Neither do I want to cart a reporter's pad about.

Got cheaper sausages for DS2 on the excuse they are lower fat so we'll give them a try. Looked at the price of our normal shampoo and bravely bought a cheaper one, thus saving £1.98. :T Saved £1.50 on washing powder but this is what I usually do - buy a particular combination and save a bit. I did splurge at the greengrocer, though. Peaches, melon and onions. I haven't had peaches for ages, DD is wanting to eat more fruit and the greengrocer is cheaper and better quality than the supermarket.

Resisted buying gel pads for shoes as I have some... somewhere... but I can't find them so maybe I will treat myself. These aren't for silly shoes, it's to enable me to stay on my feet rather than fall asleep at work at 3 in the morning!

And after all that - I realised I have come away without two things we really need so off I go again...
