    Hmmm, cupcakes. Very POsh.

Why is life so complicated, nowadays? We used to have, common buns :rotfl:, and i still prefer those. We used to put hundreds and thousands on top, or chocolate strands with silver balls, and that was that.

Talking of buttercream, whatever happened to common old butterfly cakes? :rotfl: and nothing tastes better than raw cake mix. I wonder how many of todays generation have ever baked a cake? Homemade ginger biscuits and raw mix, too :D

Nothing like a batch of fairy cakes (what we used to call them) - I like to put a bit of jam on top of the mix so it sinks through and there is a jammy middle. :) Alternatively some glace icing - if the cakes and my energy last long enough.

I don't know what it is that defines a cupcake but when I visualise them it's a fairy cake with buttercream forked onto the top and sprinkles. Whether one is allowed to fork the buttercraem into anything but concentric circles, I have no idea.

Butterfly cakes - yum! Especially lemon ones.

Memo to self: it's worth checking receipts.

I got an extra 35p back from a certain supermarket because the till had read a 10p label as 45p! I also 'wombled' a receipt DH had abandoned (all goes in the same pot in our house) and got a few pence back.

Well, I'm working tonight and tomorrow, both the boys are away and DD and DH are working too, though not at the same time as me... I don't think the food bill will be too big for Saturday. :) Sunday? Well, we'll see. Depends who's coming to dinner.

Is that an open invitation for the whole of mse? Could be quite costly? :)

Those of you who are following carefully (which obviously doesn't include me) may have spotted that I gained 60p not 35p on this transaction. :)

Lovely bbq weather - dread to think how much cleaning the bbq needs as we didn't use it at all last year and the winter weather ripped the covers off it. :(

Will provide the sausages if you bring some elbow grease! :rotfl:
