And I keep forgetting to add that DS1 and his friends are playing 'Come Dine With Me' all this week so I'm hardly feeding him at all!
DD has gone shopping with a friend so I'm not feeding her this evening either. I have leftovers for myself :rotfl:but not a lot of appetite - that's a bonus of working nights. DH is working late so I'll get him something for when he gets in (yes, he could have leftovers too but actually it will save me having to think about food to take into work).Miggy

I slept till nearly 3 this afternoon! I really needed it. Back to work tonight then I have Friday off! :j
I've just discovered that when I made a 'spare' hotpot to freeze the other day, I set it aside in the microwave to cool down and no-one's taken it out!!! Urgh. Little spots of mould grow very nicely in this weather.
So... in the bin it goes. What a waste, even if I did make it with leftovers, and I feel rather bad about that (but not tooooo bad: it was okay but not to rave over!)
It's been wet and thundery here and I've been eating my way through some ginger cake I found in the freezer. NSD though.Miggy

I'm getting lots of extra hours at work this week - one extra night is 10.5 hours, then 3.5 hours on Saturday and a sleepin shift on Sunday/Monday which is eight hours at basic rate and a sleep-in allowance of near enough £25. That's on top of my ordinary (p/t) hours.
Then, having worked 7-8am on Monday, and hopefully had a good night's rest as the sleep-in room bed is very comfy, I'm back in at night for a waking night shift, followed by another on Tuesday next week and an odd five hours on Wednesday.
Afterthis I shall be thoroughly confuzzled and have little idea of who I am, let alone what I'm doing. So be warned.
So glad of the extra money - there's another sleep-in later in the month too - and currently feeling better about work for various reasons.
It won't pay off the OD but it helps.Miggy

Grrr and... well, more Grrrr!
Mum's post contained a letter from a debt collection agency!
The thing is, I paid the company in question back in January, sent a letter closing her account and was rather surprised to receive a further bill a few months later. We rang to query as she had nothing else from them. Received another letter with the bill AGAIN.
It's a newsagent's: DH thinks the bill is for a delivery charge that hasn't been taken off their computer. We've had several phone calls and never got to speak to anyone with authority to look into it but when we didn't hear anything for a few weeks I assumed they'd finally got their act together.
Good job I keep records in detail - I've started to pull the whole lot together and I'll have to check the boards to see what exactly to do. Copies of letters sent, details of when cheques were cashed, dates of phone calls and info received.

Glad to hear you are making progress on the letters, shout if you need more help
Love the way DS is spending this week :T Sounds good fun!
Stoopid Newsagents - Is it worth asking when is a good time to speak directly to the Shop Manager or someone in authority? Once you have got hold of the right person it may be easy to resolve. Failing that you have all the info to be able to send them a letter by registered post giving bullet points of what happened when and attaching copies where relevant and demanding that they resolve it within 10 days.
I think you do brilliantly at coping with nights, it is one thing I know I couldn't do. My brain says you sleep when it is dark and wake when it is light. It is a nightmare going to the cinema during the day as I come out all sleepy and ready for my bed :rotfl: And I struggle to get out of bed on cold winter mornings when it is still dark. Love this time of year though

And I should have said that the debt collector cannot enforce a disputed debt so make sure you drop them a copy of any letter to stoopid newsagents:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

Maty, if I had the wherewithall I'd hire you as my lawyer.
Will do as you suggest.
My brain says you sleep when it is dark and wake when it is light.
Even if you do have some very strange ideas!
Oh, my head is all upside down from these shifts, but at least this week was unusual.
(...am I allowed to include the word 'prats' in official letters?)Miggy

I am not very good at the law but I do work in Collection (Trade not Consumer though) so know most of the things needed to sort out a problem with payment (or lack of it!)
As much as I would like to call people names in letters I find it just gets people's backs up. Far better to be polite, to the point and factual.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0
