Another interesting thing i saw early this morning. Theres a woman who lives in the malton / pickering area, who grows traditional english flowers in her garden and sells them to members of the public etc, for wedding posies etc, as brides now revert back to simple posies, for one.
Who said we live in a modern world, when punters are so fed up of imported flowers in gairsh colours, they are reverting back to flowers which smell of flowers, grown in the back garden, ( if you have one ). Which reminds me, there are currently 50 people on the queue for an allotment, as people desperately revert back to gowing their own, ( of everything ). Progress in reverse?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Maybe i'm full of sorrow, because nothing gives me this feeling anymore
Understandable - but don't write yourself off, it may grow back.Yup. I need some seagulls. Do you live at the seaside, perchance? No you don't, because i've a good idea where you live, hehehe:rotfl:
:DWell, we get the occasional seagull, but they look a bit lost.Because they were boring? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Not the revenge of the rock face, then?Miggy

Good for her. Flowers without scent are a rip-off.
I am, incidentally, sitting here with a pot of compost and some seeds in front of me, having paused long enough to type. Honest.Miggy

I love sweetpeas. Lasty summer for a big treat I went to Harlow Carr and in one area near the veggies they had loads of sweet peas. The scent was dreamy and they looked beautiful. (Sigh). Darn it, now Iwant to go back there... hope your neighbour remembers the sweet peas.By the way. Have a good night shift xx
Thanks, it was okay apart from a couple of minor things - I was going to moan about them but have thought the better of it.What does it matter in the eternal scheme of things? - not a lot!

So far, noOn the plus side, apparently they are having a sale at the allotments, soon, the only problem being i have no cash and no freezer :rotfl:I might have a wander, all the same. One can always dream
My dad used to grow sweet peas up the back of the garage wall, next to the swing. I have'nt smelt sweet peas, for donkeys years. There was a photo of my mum stood on a ladder, in the local press, many years ago as they grew a humumgous sunflower. I wonder what happened to that photo? Still, i have it in my memory banks.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

A quick update on the not-so-MS front:
The MS boat rocked yesterday. We discovered the remains of Sunday's chicken hadn't been put in the fridge and as a result it went in the bin. If it had been winter I might have chanced it, but thundery weather always seems to make things go off quickly. In fact a dishcloth that had been left screwed up overnight absolutely stankso goodness knows what was happening to the chicken.
I also went shopping.
The food spends were useful not whimsical but tuna and nice sausages don't come cheap any more. I did have a sort of windfall over the tuna: I noticed it was £6.99 for four tins and BOGOF, so as we get through plenty I bought two packs. The till charged me £13.98! I went to Customer Services. They had a look and it transpired the shelf had been wrongly labelled. It undoubtedly said BOGOF but it shouldn't have, so they refunded me £6.99 and went to clear the shelf before any other customers noticed! So I have four free tins of tuna to make up for the chicken.
However, I also went clothes shopping...not huge amounts, £4 for a cardigan in a charity shop and £2 for some hairslides. I have plenty of clothes and have been fairly good about not buying much, but I've decided I need to pull myself together and take better care of my appearance, and my favourite jeans are just going into holes so I think a review of the wardrobe might be a good idea. I'll post back if and when I make any progress on it. (Warning - this may mean a list!)
Now I'm off to sort out dinner, and I'm at work again tonight - if the day staff have got together the ingredients I will be doing some baking to use up an over-buy of fruit so I really hope they have it sorted!Miggy

Started off as a cleaning day, then ended up being a chasing pay day, around lunchtime, from which i've just emerged, still penniless:rotfl:
