Your holiday is sounding great, and the bonus is that we still get to read the updates of it! Yay to holiday internet.
Bruno sounds like he has his own little techniques for charming the tourists! You did better with him than I would have done!!!
The weather isn't looking great in London today either, but it's not holiday spoiling weather so hopefully you'll be able to go out and find things to do still.
Thank you for rejoicing with me. xx0 -
At last - an MS day!
Ages ago thanks to :money: I got two copies of a gardening magazine with a 2 for 1 reuseable entry offer. I used one once few months ago near home and today we used both - saving £23, so the magazines have now more than paid for themselves. We went to the Eden Project.
The BP marched in whistling 'The Great Escape'...
I think the BP were bored eventually but DH and I enjoyed it. It's a unique and very busy place. One of the staff told us there had been 7-8,000 visitors today and sometimes it can be 15,000! We were also MS in taking along our own lunches though we did buy ice cream/coffee and GB and DD bought/shared a bowl of soup which was apparently very nice. My camera battery was almost completely out and the camera didn't cope very well with the humidity in the rainforest biosphere, but I managed to appreciate it without looking through a lens (I'm a hereditary photographer - it's second nature to my family of origin to see things through a camera, infuriating though that is to DH and the children who will insist on real life).
I suppose I have to confess that DH and I treated ourselves to tee shirts, a few edibles and a plant. A strawberry mint! I've never seen one before. I would have loved an African Basil (mine died in the frost) and some Thrift (Mum had one which came from Cornwall and got killed by builders) but there really isn't car space and I couldn't find any small pots of those - only the big ones and I didn't want to spend that much.
It's only Wednesday and already we're using up foods! I don't know what we'll have tomorrow but it will have to involve potatoes...Miggy

Today the BP went to the beach and DH and I went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan (voucher worth £3 off entrance fees
). Driving round the minute country lanes trying to find said gardens, we realised how people had come to lose them. Eventually we asked a local lady. She smiled and said 'Are you lost?'
Once found, it was all well worth the search. If anything, better than yesterday, though we bought gifts in the gift shop and food in a farm shop - Blue Vinney and Yarg, sausages and Cornish Pasties (so we can say we had genuine Cornish Pasties in Cornwall).
Out again this evening as DS2 wanted to go swimming but the tide was right in so we wandered down the remains of the beach while DH went to a Gallery, and DD bought sea glass jewellery from a pedlar. There was a band playing in a park as we left though we didn't go to look properly. We were running late for GB who had stayed behind, then were a bit preoccupied about a possible oil leak on the car which turned out to be nothing.
Yet another trip to Asd@ (I exchanged something faulty which rescued £3 from being wasted) and DD got journey food for tomorrow. She and GB are going back early as she has to be at work on Saturday morning.
I think I will sleep tonight - so much fresh air...Miggy

Still asleep?
I'm loving hearing about your holiday and i'm so envious, ( pleased you are enjoying your self.)
Cornish pasties. Yum.
Did you find the cornish ginger and choc chip ice cream? I didn't. Google is not my friend. However, they do sell it in Llandudno.

Today had that 'last day of holiday' feel although we aren't planning to be home till Sunday night.
DD and GB set off at ten and arrived home at eight... shared driving and went via friends in Oxford, but still, a long haul...
The rest of us had a lazy morning, visited Fowey again in the afternoon (where I failed to find the book I was after in a 2nd hand bookshop but never mind - it'll be on Amaz0n one day) and DS2 and I fell out over me dallying in bookshops. We did, however, find an amazing discount place called 'Buy0logy'. DS2 spotted it and wanted to give it a try, wondering what it sells. He later summed it up in one word: 'everything'. Several treats and stocking-fillers later, and £27 lighter, we were on our way. Did we need everything we bought? Er... well obviously we had survived without them and some were treats but fuses for the car for £1.49 sounded like a good idea and so did a Banksie waste paper bin for the boys' room (DS2 is a Banksie fan). Other useful stuff too, and yes, we did leave some for other people.
On to St Austell where DH and DS2 washed the car and I dozed off and woke up less grumpy.
Tea at Maccy D's (brings back memories... used to be a huge treat for the children) and DH was horrified to work out how many calories he'd consumed (450 in large fries - I got the salad which was something like 70).
Back to the house... packing... everything messy... hoping to start at 10 tomorrow... night night.Miggy

I'm glad you are enjoying the holiday.I think most of the places are on the web - I think you would appreciate the Lost Gardens of Heligan and coastal path in particular. Sorry to report all ginger and choc chip ice cream must have migrated to Llandudno. Obviously the Welsh have great culture.
Maybe they do orange and mascarpone too?

Holiday in Llandudno next year? :rotfl:
DH says Llandudno is okay as he has ancestors from there.(Thought this was going to be the first time apart from [visiting relatives in] Switzerland that we wouldn't have found ancestors - but no, his Grandfather's cousin lived in Polgooth).
To do DH justice - he's into family history, it's not some strange obsession with only having holidays where some precedecessor has predecessed. (Can't spell those).Miggy
