My reading isn't going, it's one of those bleurgh days.:o
Just had a cracker for lunch, i just don't feel hungry. I'm away back to my bed, and i feel like i'll just sleep.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Ecclesiastes - now there's a book that's invites comment!.
Gawd, that's deep. The meaning of life.
I take back everything i've said previously. The meaning of life is to pay bills. No more. No less.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I saw a tee shirt just two days ago, worn by a Scout leader, with the silhouette of a bear attending to a BBQ. Homage to the Chief Scout indeed.
Took some time for that one to sink in.:rotfl:

Oh Ani, I read that SO wrong. I was really happy for you that you'd found yourself a little cracker to entertain your lunchtime! Luckily you cleared up my filthy mind with the not feeling hungry statement.:o
I hope you feel better soon. There really does seem to be a spate of energy sucking going on out there.:(0 -
LOL Muffy, what people get up to on my thread when my back is turned!
I managed to wear myself out though true to form now that it's evening I'm feeling better. DD and I went for coffee though it was a bit rushed as she had to go to work and the service was slow. I walked back as far as her work with her and she went to get changed while I got some muffins and chocs for Mum. Then a text arrived to say DD had forgotten her work shoes, so like the dutiful Mum I am, I offered to fetch them and set off for home - opposite direction from what I originally intended! However, I had a cunning plan. I have a bike now: what better time to get on the road? I found DD's shoes, unlocked the bike and pumped up the front tyre (remember the slow puncture?). Then I bravely wheeled it to the road, got on and thought... 'That tyre feels squidgy!' In that short time it had gone right down again!
I gave up on the bike at that point, walked back to DD's work and popped into Morrie's to treat myself to something to eat because by then I knew I was in for a longish haul. That was a good plan, but not MS - I got mango (MSly discounted to 65p) and an assortment of bread rolls so we can have some with soup tomorrow (cheaper than F&C by a long way). By the time I got to Mum's I was feeling better on the strength of mango and croissant.I also managed to make it a short visit but by the time I got home I was weakening! DH and I made salad for tea which semi-revived me, then I watched the GB/Brazil match on MOTD - didn't manage to spot either DS2 or DD's b/f in the crowd though they were there somewhere.
So that's where we're up to now. No NVQ done, but there hasn't been time or effort today. DD is home and watching TV in bed. DH is out somewhere in the vicinity of the Riverside trying to find DS2 and friends... I am going to have an early night!Miggy

I meant to say I had a phone call from work to ask if I'd extend my my Sunday shift by two hours this week and I couldn't think of a good excuse. I realised when I agreed to it that for various reasons I may find that shift a long one. Never mind: I have oodles of time off after that.
After all that kerfuffle earlier, I completely forgot the bleach and washing up brush! We do, however, have a cleaner sofa, though I left it to DH and DD to wrestle the covers back on. Those cushions will never be a size zero.
And looking back at what you said Ani:I take back everything i've said previously. The meaning of life is to pay bills. No more. No less.
Later there was a good quotation which I think you'd like: 'Most human problems stem from the fact that we treat people as things and things as people'.Miggy

Not a MS morning: for the first time in months (it seems) both of us had a free Saturday morning ANd it was sunny - so we went to the car boot sale. I made up for lost time with buying stuff.
Best buy was a big blue and white jug for £2... DH reckons it dates from about 1880. There is some damage so it can't be used but it's sitting on the window sill giving an impression of a cat that's decided to move in. I love my blue and white china.
Other than that, a book for 50p, another book for £1, a posh woolly jacket (posh for me) for £4, a summer cardi for £2, 3 nice tee shirts for £1 together and a kind of toy-sized bench which needs to be painted in a nicer colour but would be a good way of grouping small plants or ornaments (50p).
Now I've dived into the freezer and found soup for lunch, the first MS thing today. I think I'll have to spend a £ or so on a sampler-sized paint for the bench but we may just have some that will do.
Lunch nearly ready, time to go.Miggy

And looking back at what you said Ani: :rotfl:. It was very strange this evening because DH and I pulled a book off the shelf and the first page was all about the purpose of life being to be aware of God and aware of others.
Sometimes, it's easier to blank others?

What a brilliant idea.

'No man is an island...'?
Guilty as charged...........:D
Thought i might be right on that one.
What a brilliant idea.

Of course. If all the little things have a bench of their own, they aren't clutter any more. Are they?
Anyway, how's Ani? I really didn't think to see you before I go off to work - what are you doing up at this unearthly hour? Oh okay - haven't read your thread yet, sorry.
Now this is the bit for which I am very likely to get thrown off MSE or posted on the Home page as a bad example.:o:o I have bought yet more stuff and what's more we are over the food budget by a fiver this week. My one consolation is that my biggest spend was less than DS2's. One jumper, a pair of shoes, two pairs of tights and a dress (this last was in the sale) - total £36.
On the plus side, I remembered to get toothpaste.
*Slinks off before MSE catches up with her*.Miggy
