After that I went straight on to meet two other friends at the ice cream place. By then I knew I needed to eat or suffer for it later so I got a sandwich and cappuccino - turns out the cappuccinos are served with a mini mini ice cream cornet on the side! My surprise ice cream was ginger and delicious - I think they have silently talked me into buying a full sized one some time in the future!
Hmmmm, you got an ice cream place? I think i'll have to visit
I've bought ginger ice cream from waitrose, in the past. I've got to say, its my favourite ice cream. GorgeousI don't know if they still sell it, as i haven't visited waitrose for years :rotfl: Sadly, nor do i own a freezer, now :rotfl:

Thank you, lovely people!
DD's hand is much better and she's not too despondent about the exam, which I'm hoping is a good sign. She so wants to go to Uni and if hard work alone could get her there, she'd be okay. Sadly, a little hurdle called 'exams' and another whose name I can't remember (a syndrome where text appears to jiggle while being read) have to be overcome first. Well, we'll see how it goes.
I am feeling slightly virtuous as I've managed some more exercise. This is fraught with hurdles - in fact so many that if they were actual not metaphoric, I would be getting plenty of exercise, no problems. I decided to use some of the free time at work to do exercise DVDs, but discovered that the work DVD player will only play the first track on anything - okay if I wanted to watch a film but frustrating for fitness - one of my DVDs allows me to do a cardio session (good, but I need variety) and the other only plays an introduction! Then I had an inspiration and tried the work laptop, only to find it doesn't have the software...
Between that and the weather, I've missed several potential exercise sessions that I'd planned for work time, and needing to sleep in the day restricts me too.
Anyway, today I did 20 minutes of 'The Shred' and am imagining I look awesome - as if a 20 minute session is going to morph me into Jillian Michaels! :rotfl:
No sign of the money... mind you I haven't done anything financial for 24 hours or so. Def not been spent...
Ani, are you a fan of all things ginger? I love it: I made some ginger syrup yesterday which is supposed to go in lattes but I found it's delicious with hot water. I don't know if I've ever shopped in Waitrose, but I can certainly recommend our nearest ice cream place.Miggy

How did you guess? :rotfl:
Yup, i'm a fan of all things ginger. Ginger wine, ginger cordial, ginger preserve, ginger ice cream, and best of all sushi ginger. Now i could sit and eat a whole jar of sushi ginger, in one sitting. Yum
Dya know, me and you would get on like a house on fire
Ginger is also good for the digestion, and is supposed to be an aid with seasickness, although i've not tried it for seasickness. I was out in a force 8 / 9 on a 33ft yacht, and the instructor said if you're not seasick now, its unlikely you ever will be :rotfl::rotfl:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I don't know if you saw from FB Miggy but last Saturday my knee popped....ouch - old injury and I thought it would be okay with a tubigrip but by Sabbath pm I couldn't go to the loo  so sos trip to A+E....
Beginning of a bad week...On Tuesday I had to go back to the fracture clinic cos the splint slipped off about 3 times in a meeting on Monday. By Tuesday evening I'd lost part of the splint (the bit that stops your knee from locking) so wednesday was pants..
The chap at fracture clinic (the cast guy) on Tuesday just didn't get it though...he said no showers and no hair washing for 2 weeks!!! Dr. C will section me if I don't wash my hair
...I washed it yesterday
...splint was getting painful..
Of course I can get round the house and that's it with the splint on. It's not like they gave me speedo crutches so I literally shuffle (unless I want the splint to fall down...). So I bought a tv ..poor poor OD..what with bike last week (£225) and tv and kindle this week (£300)...poor poor OD....and the TV needed 101 extra bits to get it to work I didn't have. I now have everything but stillIt's so tiny though despite being 22 inches. It literally fits on top on my hifi (fossilized hifi huge)...amazing
So yeah not sleeping but that's the least of my worries...I'm housebound...no FP communion (can't cycle and not prepared to shuffle)
and like that's about it. Just reading on kindle and like doing crochet (practising my sock making skills I now need)

We are now the proud owners of a new laptop (and I don't feel too bad about spending as a) I feel guilty borrowing DDs' all the time and b) Erme has spent more than I have in the last week!
)
DS2 is setting it up now, I'm on the borrowed one.
Erme, your knee didn't show up on FB (due to vagueries of Timeline I expect) but I saw it in your email... I hadn't realised how bad it was.How long will it take to get you back on your feet?
Ani, I'll give you the ginger syrup recipe if you're interested, either in American cups (which is how it came) or I could have a go at translating. I've never had Sushi ginger... I'll look out for it.Miggy

Too true
Glad you found the £20.
At the moment, i don't think i can find the energy to make ginger syrup, especially if you can't make it in a microwaveDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
