    Hi Miggy,

Well done on your weigh-in. Every pound off is an achievement. How are you going with your Lent decisions?

Thanks Muffy! It's going fine thank you... went out for a meal with friends the other day and said I would just have a coffee after as I'd given up puddings - to my surprise everybody did the same! Now I am wondering very much of all that it takes is a lead from one person for everyone to 'resist'. Then they brought some really fab-looking chocolates with the coffee so I donated mine to the birthday girl. ;)

It's all making me realise that I pick at sweet stuff if it's available.

    And how's yours gping?

This weekend was a write off regarding weight loss. I didn't eat as much as I normally would, but my food choices were bad. I knew that would be the case though so I did go shopping and get lots of fresh fruit and salad for tomorrow's start.

The one thing I did manage to sort out was drinking lots of water this weekend. I'm pleased that I acheived that and have carried it on now I'm home. It stopped me ordering dessert yesterday too as I was stuffed after a full meal and a litre of water!

One of my birthday gifts was a beautiful box of expensive chocolates but they're not worrying me as they're too nice to sit and scoff. I'm going to put those aside and save them for when I'm back at work and cycling both ways where I'll be able to eat just one at a time. I know I'm really good with expensive truffles. It's the standard chocolate that grips me.

Isn't it funny how when you say you're not eating puddings everyone else was happy to do the same? I think it's true that having a lead person makes things easier for others. No one is going to try to insist on you breaking Lent either, whereas encouraging a diet break is a totally different thing psychologically.

That's a good idea for the chocs - they will last longer and be really appreciated.

I have got out of the habit of drinking lots of water and I know I need to do it again. I find I more energy when I'm properly hydrated. I've already planned on taking a bottle of water round London with me. :)

I've just realised I missed your birthday! I'm very sorry! Did you have a good day? It was Sunday, wasn't it?

Here is a calorie-free cake from me:

to me it looks like a classic Victoria sponge with jam and cream but the choice of flavour is up to you. :)

Went out to get some shopping so as to have something to eat while travelling, thus saving an unspecified amount - but they also had raspberries marked right down! I bought some for the freezer as well as some for a snack - saving £4.90.:j Oh, I love raspberries!

My weight is stable around the 78kg mark but then I'm quite tall so can get away with it :)

Got an email back this am from Kenwood Restore (you'd be amazed what those folk do to KC's :)) and he said it just needed a bit of grease...

Have a stomach bug so feeling particularly sorry for myself. :(. Haven't been out today so far :( ...

Och brilliant. I had my first good night's sleep all week. Now I ache for some reason. Don't know if I will go into volunteering later though think I should.....Just ache....face and arms...Could be a bug or could just be tiredness. Don't know....

Anyhow more spendies ..this time on discounted but posh bakeware that only just fits in my oven....(cos it's 50cm rather than 60cm wide)....

Can't believe it's March...One more month and like the clocks go forward :)

And I have to go upto the clinic at the hospital at some point cos even though it's worse than it was two weeks ago it's not infected :(
