A stuation like that does put things into perspective, it brings out the best in people. And yes I probably shouldn't have posted but I did, as to me at least it puts the petty, pedantic quibles of some of the regulars here to shame.
Does it also put you to shame, cyclonebri, with the way you are carrying on?
We were delayed on a train on Thursday because of a fatality further down the line.
Yes, it does make you think, but you still have to continue as you normally do.
It takes more than one person to make a discussion heated, and you are also playing a part in that, so just how much did it make you think about things? There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -

When you have had the unenviable task of getting parents to identify the bodies of their young children thrown from a car because they had no seatbelts on and actually been part of their grief then you can pontificate. The memory of that particular experience is still as clear as it was 15 years ago.
I bet you will have forgotten the very little you actually saw in a month or so.So do not presume to lecture me when you write an extremely ambiguous post that I was not the only one to misunderstand.
And personal insults and 'angry' smilies quite frankly just add to my opinion of you.
You posted the matron comment or do things slip from your memory more quickly than you expect them to from mine.
Yes you probably are more conditioned to incidents like this so have some respect.
Me, I'm susceptible to things like this.
10 years ago I was just going back into the house on a very hot late July evening just like yesterday. Round about 10 pm and just going dark. There's a tee junction, actually a slightly staggered crossroads 50 yds up the main road from me. There was a sickening smack, I'm sure you've all heard it. A motorcyclist had slightly overun the tee junction as was found out later due to an artic, banned from the narrow road, had turned the give way sign through 90 deg.
He stopped in the middle of the road, a mini bus full of carehome oap's on the way home smacked straight into him.
Before I had even turned round the lot was going up in flames, his petrol tank had ruptured and he was fried into the road still sat on the bike with his hands on the handlebars. He was wedged under the front of the bus and I couldn't get him out.
It was a bad one, they even dug up the road and resurfaced it before dawn.
Now Krisscross, that was over ten years ago, and I recall it most days, you being a medical person should realise it's always possible to forget, infact it's actually a reallity check because if stuff like that didn't affect a normal person, well I give up.
Still want to call matron??
don't expect me to be ableI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

I think I've just answered that, re my previous experiences, and I think I've already explained and also apologuised for myself if I went a little over the top. But insults I will not stand when making what to me was a very serious post. Shall I call Matron for you too?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

So why are you free with dishing the insults?
You are fuelling what could become a heated exchange. If you're happy with that, and a re seeking a heated topic, you are going about it the right way.
However, rather than simply blame others, look at what you are posting.
I'm not going to help you inflame a topic any further, so will bow out of discussion with you, here, and leave you to get on with it. Any further posts you make will show where you are hoping to take the discussion

Again, I was wrong to post yesterday, it was emotional for me, and I was already involved in the petty bickering within this topic by the usual contenders.
I have apologuised or can't you anf your supporters see that?
The last word is for you, I don't need it.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

There seems to be a hierarchy with disability, almost as if some disabilities are seen as okay and "deserving" of help, whereas others are seen as skiving (e.g. mental illness/depression/anxiety) or seem to fall into a no mans land category of "well yes, you're ill, but not disabled, so we don't have to help you" (e.g any kind of sickness which results in an inflamed bowel and can leave you with less than a minute, if that, between realising you need to go and just going).
I've noticed this a lot. Someone (not on here) said that someone should compile a list of what the "worst" disabilities are. I mean - what the hell?
I do wish I was joking - I'm not unfortunately.
Many people do seem to hold the opinion "well, I can't see it, therefore it can't possibly exist".Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Yep, I get that last a lot in my life - I do have physical disabilities as well as mental, but since they're ALL invisible to the naked eye if the eye belongs to someone without experience dealing with hypermobility and its problems, it doesn't seem to matter either way.
There's hardly any research or awareness going into fibromyalgia compared to the amount going into other, more "well-known" conditions. I remember reading on a medical source recently that FM is the second or third most common diagnosis made by consultant rheumatologists in England and Wales, but compare that to the number of people who don't have it who actually know what it is... just, ugh.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -

I wanted to be a children's nurse as a young child, but I know I'm not emotionally strong enough to ever have been able to deal with something like that

I've also considered tutoring on a children's ward, but know I would become too emotionally attached and death would have a long lasting affect on me.
Not a nice experience kk
I am the same, it was always my dream to be a nurse dealing with children...until I had my children and realised that I would just get too attached and upset at seeing children ill and in pain, let alone if they died.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
