I'm no angel, I cant throw stones, but as I see it your situation has changed. Therefore I would be truthful and tell everyone now that your situation has changed. It happens. They would probably never give you the spanish inquisition about how, when or why. They just want their money back.
We've all done things we aren't proud of but hopefully learn by our mistakes.
This is one worry you have caused yourself but its not the end of the world.

As for fraud......well, when a very large well known bank were trying to 'persuade' me to have a credit card a couple of years ago, they actually lied about my income in order for me to be accepted. I was on income support at the time with a very low income (they doubled it).......whats worse, I signed for it, slightly bemused that they had given me a credit card that I didnt particularly want.
This was most definately fraud but whose? They did it, I signed it. No worries, they got their money back. I wouldnt do it again but at that time it was a very useful 0% bal transfer.

So, apart from a few squeeky clean angels, we are all guilty of a little white lie here and there which could amount to fraud and most have got away with it.;)
    ;) debt free...yippee

  • oh kenshaz - your not going on again are you?

banks do not have to have proof of income in every situation, or verify where you work - if they did I'm sure people would moan, right?

to be honest though it could be the person that keyed the loan at the bank that could get into trouble though - should they have said they did get proof

Are you the crown proscecution service ,have you decided that a crime has been commited, please state the basis of your allegation

Oh, here we go! It is quite obvious that a crime has been committed. I am shocked and amazed that you cannot see that.

I would think it is pretty much a 'victimless crime' , only the lovely banks will lose out. If they sent you to jail they would never get their money. Just be honest to any charities you involve and take their advice.

Before anyone says we all lose out with increased bank charges to cover fraud etc I would point out that murder has hardly been commited and the OP asked for advice not a load of flack!!

With an attitude like that, it is no wonder this country is going down the drain.

Quite agree, like I said in my previous post if it affects the banks, it affects MY savings. It also affects YOUR interest rates YOU pay on YOUR debts....
Bank's getting ripped off by people who think it's OK to defraud them cost's savers and debtors alike.
We could do without this type of fraud. Like I already said, don't forget the criminal has a better quality of life than you because they are prepared to defraud the industries that control YOUR money.
I hope the OP goes to jail.
<<hugs and kisses>> , you can not justify illegal practices just because the OP is having a "bad time". No sympathy I'm afraid on this one. They're just a common crook who is costing this country dearly...

  • Hello

Would just like to point out to some of the posters who would like to see me impisoned & if they had their way would probably have me hung, drawn & quatered. If the police did get involved & i consequently went through the court system & prison. Just who foots the bill for all this, not the banks but you the tax payer. Also if i came out the other side as an "ex con" i probably would never get a another job so the state has to keep me, paid for again by the tax payer! while my creditors will get nothing.

I am not proud of what i have done. I can't go bankrupt because of my job.I realise i will never be able to pay it all back. I am currently thinking of an IVA or DMP because surely my creditors would prefer to get something rather than nothing which is what will happen i am prosecuted & lose my job.

    Thanks
  • I'm not especially defending them, yes they did something wrong, but they posted on this board for help , that is what this forum is about and people are acting like they are jack the ripper!! This forum should not be a place for people to vent their spleen.

I really do not think someone who lied and wants help is the enemy of the state. The bank should have checked them out, if the bank had done it's job in the first place your savings interest would not be going down the swannee.

But this isn't 'this kind of fraud', is it? The OP has always kept up her payments, and is still trying to do so.

She knows it's fraud of a kind, but she hasn't tried to DEFRAUD anyone, and is still trying to pay back what she owes.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

A rather selfish attitude, you appear to have set your self up as police officer, jury and judge.I will refrain from stating what I think about your right wing manifesto.I hope that you have made provision for mis-fortune.
