I sent my phone to them on 23rd Feb and since then have received several automated emails saying that they have noy yet received it. Im a bit confused about this as i sent it using the freepost label they supply on the website and it went first class. I also sent another phone to another company the same day and had an email from them the next day to say they had received it. I've since had my money (a loley £4) from the other company, but after multiple email attempts as well as phone calls met with no reply i'm at a loss as to what to do about the Skyphones ordeal!
anyone got any advice? The thing is, until i know that they have received it i dont reckon i have a leg to stand on, do i?
Thanks
Trust me thay have it, these ppl r scammers!0 -
Not sure if this thread is still alive but it seems some things don't change.
I've dealt with several companies in the past and never had any issue. Decided to use Skyphones as they offered the best price, although only by £4 at £76.
Sent phone off about March 6th and got the reply on the 8th to say they've received it.
March 16th got what now seems to be standard message saying it has scratches on screen and body and only offer me £66 or £12 to send it back.
I tried contacting them for proof as I know the phone wasn't scratched in anyway but nothing. Then on the 19th and 20th I got 2 emails saying money was on it's way. Now the 31st and nothing and I can't make any contact with them. Call them and just get answer message saying can't take your call and can't leave a message. Have sent email yesterday as well.
Resigned to the fact although annoyed that I'm only going to get £66 but not holding out much hope at the moment for the money. I did use Topcashback as well and although it's tracked, still pending.
hmmmm, what to do now I wonder0 -
Guys,
Are you frustrated with these conmen?
If you are getting nowhere, heres an idea... Why not try filling in the offer form on the website, get the Skyphones pre paid postage label printout, and keep sending them heavy stuff in the post.0 -
OR!
You could try not being an idiotOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
Hi all
I too have been scammed by this company and they quoted my phone at £63.50 but no cash despite contacting trading standards and sending a special delivery letter(another £5.05 cost to me) advising that they had breached their contract and I would take legal action if I heard nothing within the next 7 days. Again no response.
I suggest that we try to get them stopped by clubbing together. I have reported my experience with them to BBC Watchdog on their online form(just google "bbc watchdog" and you'll find it). If we all do the same they are more likely to take up the case and we may get our money back.
I also intend to report their site to the advertising standards authority as they have quite a lot of authority for misleading advertisements.
If anyone else is willing to help me by doing the same or if you prefer I could give them your email too and state you've had the same problems. I'm also thinking of contacting gmtv/this morning. And how about we tell all our friends on Facebook not to lose their phones by warning them off this company?
I'd love to hear from anyone who is willing to help me to stop this company from stealing our phones!!!
I'm a mum of 2 young daughters without cash to splash and I'm sure there are many others in dire straights who have lost their phones to this dreadful company.
Please help - we've nothing to lose.

I sent My phone to Skyphones on 17th January and the story went like everyone else's on here. However I followed through on the threats of legal action I made and went to the small claims court. They still didn't pay so the court ordered them to with a CCJ. Three weeks later they still haven't paid. So far court has cost £25.00 but to take it further (sending in Bailiffs) costs another £100 and you are still not guaranteed to get your money. As much as I hate to I think I will have to let it go. I paid for a search to see if they have any more CCJ's and there are another two unsatisfied claims. With that in mind I don't think I will get my money but I would be glad to help anyone who wants to try and make their lives very difficult.

Sent my phone off ages ago, as usual they sent me back the email saying that it had scratches etc, I've noticed that most people have been quoted £10 less after inspection, which is interesting, as their admin fee is £12, so it's either be £10 worse off or £12 worse off.
I've also contacted watchdog about this log, hopefully Annie will give them the boot up the backside that they need.0 -
unholyangel wrote: »Morally i would be inclined to say they should pay for it as they changed the terms of the agreement. Basically the phone was sent on the premise that they would get price a for it. They have changed the terms and imo, should be liable for the costs incurred due to this.
However, i'd wait for someone with more knowledge as its possible in this instance your friend could be the seller and not the consumer. Although personally i would say that he has contracted them for a service so should still be covered in that respect.
If we are talking about "morality" and changing the terms of a contract, wouldn't it have been better for the seller to inform Skyphone of the crack, before they valued it?

The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Both websites down, this was after Greenwich Trading standards told me their premises Unit c, 4 Footscray Rd had been visited by Bailiffs last week, they still have my phone without me recieving anything...
I can only hope it saves anyone else from this Scamming, shameful "company".0
