Glad to see the power of moneysavingexpert.com getting this thread into the first page of search results for this company, they seem dodgy as all hell after the treatment that my mate and others have received. Hopefully people will think twice before sending their phones off to them.

Sirmarcus - I'm sure you're trying to help but seriously mate, read the threads you're replying to. You got the company wrong in the first place by skimming, and then suggested the company's Contact Us page - that kind of input is not only patronising (when the first post states he was already in contact with the company) but utterly unhelpful. It seems to be a habit with you, so please do take a moment to consider whether your contribution might add anything at all before you hit that reply button.

Hi everyone,
I found this threat by searching for skyphones on google I felt I had to register and post to add to this.

I sent my Nokia N900 to these guys and had an email on 31/07/2010 to say my phone had been recieved and was now at the testing stage (I must add that the phone was in excellent condition and even returned in the original box with charger). Now 11 days later... nothing. I've emailed and called both without reply and I'm starting to get worried. I even opted for BACS bank transfer which I would have assumed should have sped up the process. I'll keep trying to get in touch with them and keep you informed on my progress.

my wife sent her phone off over a month ago. now even though she has received an email saying the amount has been agreed she still hasn't received payment. she managed to speak to someone 2 weeks ago who said the chq was in the post but nothing at all.

we've been trying for 2 weeks to get hold of them but they don't email back and no one picks up the phone. so i did some digging and it turns out that "one of the market leaders in phone recycling" (according to their website) was only incorporated in March 2010 - so they're talking sh it basically. I fear this is a scam - if you google earth the address its a residential property near Greenwich - doesn't look like a professional outfit to me.

all we can do is keep trying i suppose. i'm particuarly hacked off as i've been ripped off by earthmobile so it looks like the missus has had her phone stolen as well. there are some real scumbags out there.

just to let you all know, after posting here yesterday we got home to find that there was a cheque waiting for us! it's a personal cheque though, and not in the name of the company - that smacks of the company being in financial difficulties.

all i can say is keep trying - my wife had literally been bombarding them with emails and threatening action with trading standards, police etc (which we would have taken).

i'll let you all know if the cheque actually clears however!!!

Regardless of that I think it is important that everyone who has suffered with this sends a Letter Before Action stating that if monies are not received within 7 days you will take the matter to small claims court.
