Right, have now joined Ciao and posted my first review (Lotuseater123) for my mobile phone. Will trawl through tomorrow afternoon for TV programs, which I watch quite a bit.
Tomorrow morning I have a mystery shop, which should be another tenner to add to the holiday fund. Yeehaaa!! :j
Oh, and thanks for the inspiration, have placed some books and CDs on Amazon as well. Crossing fingers, legs, eyes etc.
  • :T Woohoo, just sold a book on Amazon for £4.51. All these little amounts are adding up.
    Total so far = £53.51.
Just realised I will have to pay for the cattery as well! Another £60, making my target £260. I can do it with the positive energy from my fellow-forummers .... forumies ... pals on the forum!

    Yey well done!!
I've just listed a few things on ebay and have another 10 lots to add this evening once I get round to it! Hopefully some will sell!
My gameboy finishes today and it's on 11.50 already! My target was to get 10 for it! NOw I hope to get about 13! We'll see...!
I'm actually really surprised by how much I've made so far from just sitting at my computer!
We're decluttering today so I think we may add a bulk lot of cds to ebay and maybe some other random bits of things we find! I'm having the day out today whilst my husband does the decluttering and then we swap roles tomorrow! It's really hard to do it if the baby's shuffling around flinging things everywhere!!

Hehe, I remember baby years well so getting her out of the house sounds like a good plan. Maybe you can wear her out so much that she goes to bed early and sleeps all night :)

Your ebayings going really well, I'm quite jealous ;)

I've gotta put a lot of my household furniture up today, I'm thinking I want to put it on a 5 day listing for collection only, that way it should end midweek which will give plenty of time to be collected at the weekend, but then I wasn't sure if anyone would bid if it ended mid week. What do you think, should I be aiming to end it on a saturday instead?
  • Lalli, I think it depends on your potential buyers. If they are looking for certain bits of furniture, e.g. a coffee table, it doesn't matter when the auction ends, they will buy it. It's only with random spontaneous stuff when people are browsing because they're bored, that it's handy to have it ending at the weekend when they're sitting at their computer with nothing else to do! :D
Good luck, it's therapeutic to have a clear-out now and again, feels like you can breathe freely. Hope you make lots of dosh!

I have listed items to finish after 5 days I was hoping to then use the weekend to post them. I don't think it really matters what day you put it on... I think mid week people may have less to do so will browse... at the weekend they may be out so won't browse as much so it works both ways!

The gameboy sold for £15! I'm really happy with that! It literally just sat in the drawer unused!

I've got 2 watchers on one of my lots already. I'm going to list the rest tomorrow when I'm feeling more awake- it's been a long day out all day with Hope! I'm going to have an early night tonight now, so rock and roll! haha!

How've you guys found your saturday so far? x
  • Well done Fozz, did you say you are also on a 21-day hold with Paypal? Damned nuisance, as I want to put on a load of stuff, being fee-free on ebay this weekend. Guess I will do it anyway, who knows, they may lift the hold soon.
This morning I did a mystery shop, but I think it goes into next month's pay loop.
I was a bit cross at the Post Office this morning, when I found the postage for the book I sold on Amazon was way more than Amazon's postage credit (it was a big and heavy book). But hey, that book had been sitting in a drawer doing nothing (much like your gameboy!) and I still made a few bob on it.
Tomorrow I will be taking pics and putting stuff on ebay.
Good luck everyone, it's great reading all your success stories :T

Well I have listed about 14 lots on ebay! I really hope some sell! If not thenw hat a waste of time listing it all! It takes so much longer than amazon!
I find with amazon postage costs for books are all the same regardless of how big they are. I sold a really small one n it only cost me £1.20 to post but then I sold a text book n it cost over £5! It's very swings and roundabouts!
  • Phew, by coincidence I also put 14 lots on ebay. What a mission!
Wonder how Coco did at the car-boot.

Ok, Just gonna list all my furniture. I think I'll put them in for a 5 day and then if they don't sell I can still relist for free. It still feels like there's too many days in the month before payday but this month is marginally better. Next month will be brilliant once I can get my paypal pennies out :)
