hey pennies i see your still paying the student loan ... good going ... they are starting to add interest again ... soooo... it deff makes sense if thats your last debt to get it outa your face

hows it going with the dog ?
  • Today I have paid another £30 off my loan so my total is now £893...When does the interest start again El?

Dog is doing ok, she's still teething so it's hard work at times, she chewed the skirting board off the wall a couple of weeks ok, she is SO not ready to be left alone in the living room!

I think I read across on the 'Shop but Don't Drop' forum that Boots starts to get their Christmas stuff in mid/end of September, so not long really!

  • Yay Friday again! :j

Have paid £7.08 in to my VSP this morning so the total is now £119.40, it's funny how the money really adds up quickly even though it seems like such small un-noticeable amounts being transferred!

OH informed me this morning that he had put a £2 coin in the sealed tin last night, so have roughly £170 in there now - unless he has been putting in more coins and hasn't been telling me?! I can only hope that is the case :p

I sat and counted our spare change jar last night, it's mostly silver coins with the odd £1 thrown in, we had £47.40 :) Not sure what to do with it yet, might use it towards decorating the bedroom as we haven't got any further with it yet. So far we have picked the wallpaper (and bought it!) and chosen the paint colour (not bought!)...

  • Hi IMPWP,

I've just finished reading through your diary and wanted to come on and say keep up the good work, you're doing a grand job. :T

I will keep checking in going forward.

    Cheers,

  • Mornging Pennies, just read up on what the VSP challenge is, it's a good one and certainly seems to get you saving. I've decided that I need to start paying off random small amounts off my CC debt, I'm happy to fritter away money on wine or cakes etc so I'm going to transfer the equivalent amount to my CC each time I feel like buying some.

Kinda had a new lightbulb moment last night, compared to others I don't have a great deal of debt so I should be clearing it quicker than I am so I'm onto it now, I need to give myself a shake and see sense.

    Enough about me!!

Keep up the good work and I reckon you'll be blizting this debt in no time :j
  • Hi MustStopSpending and phillipsdj - thanks for stopping by!

I got another £6 in £2 coins over the weekend so think my total is about £176 now - I seem to be getting lots of lovely coins at the moment, can't wait to open my sealed tin - how sad is that?! :p

Didn't get up to much over the weekend, got another birthday present for OH, so far I have got him a wallet and a pair of jeans, not sure what else to get him...

    How was everyone elses weekends?!

    Hiya!

I love the VSP challenge, not ever done one myself although I do have a little savings tin that I am putting 50 pence pieces in, I thought I could take the metal plug out of the bottom but after trying to at the weekend, it seems maybe I can't . Not sure how much is in there but I wont open it until it is full!

Men are a nightmare to buy for, I have no idea what to get my OH for xmas without getting him what I always get him - xbox games, chocolate and pants :rotfl:. We have agreed that Xmas will be a small affair this year so that helps :D

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

  • Well a few money updates to report...

    Today I have:

    • Transferred £4.07 in to my VSP, new total £123.47
    • Put a £2 coin in my tin, new total approx £178
    • Paid £25 off the Student Loan, new total £868 left to pay
    • Checked by banking and my sister has transferred £150 that she owed me, new total £300 owed to me from my sister
Think that's all for now, but I must say I'm quite chuffed with today's proceedings! :j:j:j

  • Another update if anyone is around...

Seem like my complaining to my boss about the expenses taking ages to process has paid off, last time it took 6 weeks and I eventually got it in cash (it usually goes in my bank), put a new form in yesterday and the money was in my bank this morning! :T:j

So I have been good with the £56.80 I got paid, I put the odd £6.80 in to my VSP making my new total £130.27 and the other £50.00 against the student loan making my outstanding balance now only £818.00 :)
