If My Pennies Were Pounds...

Hi Pennies
Have just read all the way through your diary, your puppy is super cute. Did you manage to get her to sleep downstairs? Mine sleeps in our bed till the telly goes off then he gets put out on the landing. In fact as I type he has just taken himself off to our bed, soooo lazy!
I'm sure you will get the loan cleared by April, you were really cracking on with it before xLBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Thanks guys, think I just needed some words of encouragement
OH is no good for that, he just says it's not that much and you don't pay much interest so don't fret, but I know that they are/maybe already have started interest again.
I also have the whole thing with HMRC holding any funds from my salary until the end of the tax year which is why I have set the end of March as my DFD as I really don't want to enter another period of tax with HMRC and not have it paid off until April 2012.
On the plus side I have had 3 NSDs this week, tonight won't be though as we have puppy classes, £2 for that.
Yes Woo she sleeps downstairs no problem, she sleeps on the sofa! I was quite suprised because she took to it no problem, didn't even whine to get upstairs with us again!
Still not sure how I'm going to get the extra £90 a month to the loan, I could probably manage it out of my wages but don't want to be depressed over Christmas! Also have car tax due end of this month and christmas and birthdays to pay for...VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
Hi Pennies, just read all the way through, phew!
The pictures aren't showing on my work internet - no fair, I wanted to see the puppy!
I think you're doing really well.
I think that's a good DFD to have set, I can see not wanting to go into the new tax year with it.
I'm sure if you put your mind to it you will be able to find the money.
Any chance of your sister paying back the rest of what she owes you by then if you explain why you want the money by that date?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Yeah that would really help you to reach your goal if your sister could pay at least some of the outstanding back.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

To be honest I can see me getting a little of what she owes me, but not all of it...she has said she will give me another payment in November, think she said the beginning of November but can't remember! Not sure how much that will be though, I'm guessing £50.
Although all £300 would be good by March I really can't see it, not with her getting a new place in the new year, a baby in May and a wedding in August...:oVSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
That's a shame, but I saw you had problems getting money back before so guess it might have been difficult.:(
Would you not be prepared to use your savings towards shifting whatever balance is left in April?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Another good suggestion Bec's - your on a roll today lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Yeah Becs it is a possibility, to be honest I would love to not have to, but if it means I reach my goal it wouldn't be a problem because the £51 a month that currently goes to the loan could then go back in to savings.
The money my sister owes me currently goes in to a separate account than my current account (but not in the ISA either), the last lot of her payments went towards my car insurance, but from now on I will put them against the loan - obviously can't determine how many payments there will be though.
There is a small amount sitting in that account (£150) that I think I will gradually pay off to the loan, don't want to pay it all at once incase something crops up, is that the wrong frame of mind to be in?VSP - £14.76 | Saving for a Deposit0 -
I think it's ok to keep it in savings and then put it towards the loan at the end before you go into the next tax year if you need to.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)
