  • Yes but he has a season ticket for his team! And I got him a signed shirt by his team for his 21st last year!

He's so hard to buy for, he likes his cars, but not sure what I can get because I can't afford a new car for him! lol :rotfl:

  • I have decided to get super organised on the money front. I am going to put money away every month between now and July next year to help fund the expense that is my sister's wedding (I'll call it the 2011 pot). From the money I put away it will go towards the hotel for the night of the wedding (£75 ), her wedding present and towards the hen night/s. Hoping to put away £20 a month so should have nearly £250 by then. That's the plan anyway!

Still trying to get ideas for OH's birthday, not sure what I'm going to get him. Think I will drag him around town this weekend to get ideas...

I asked the management about my expenses today, apparently they will be processed today so should be in my account soon. Think I will split it 3 ways, some in to savings(aka Rainy Day Fund or VSP!), some to the loan and some to start off the 2011 pot...

  • Today is my official pay day, although it went in to the bank yesterday. Have transferred a tiny £1.98 in to my VSP this morning to make my balance nice and even on my current account. No sign of the expenses yet but I suppose it depends whether a) they actually did get processed yesterday and b) how long my employer's bank takes...

Not much else to report at the moment, how is everyone else on this fine Friday?!

  • Not sure what team he supports but what about a tour of the stadium or wemberly for his birthday?!?!?! Clothes? alcohol?

Not much going on my end, have two poorly boys (ds1 has a cold and bad chest setting off his asthma and ds2 has chicken pox) so all fun and games in my house!

Good job you didnt ask your sister if she was preggars in the end, but how exciting becoming an auntie. You get the best bits really, cuddles, kisses and can be the cool one but dont have to deal with the sick, poo, crying and tantrums!
    December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

  • Well we are in Scotland so Wembley isn't really an option and to be honest he wouldn't thank me for it! His team is Dundee United, and to be honest he has pretty much done everything to do with them as they aren't a huge team - although they were playing in the Europa League last night!

Yes I'm so glad I didn't ask her, could you imagine how awkward that would be?! :p Will wait and see if it happens, being an Auntie will definately NOT help my broodiness though! I know if I become an Auntie then I will just want one even more... :rotfl:

  • Hello everyone, hope you all had a good weekend? Mine was ok, didn't really get up to much to be honest, rather a lot of tension in the family at the moment so think I might be keeping my distance for a while :(

I wanted to open my £2 coin tin last night but OH wouldn't let me! :p In January MIL and I started a competition of who could save the most and fill their tin the fastest (we are using the metal tins from poundland that you have to use a tin opener to get in to), well MIL's was full last night so it was time to open hers. She has been putting a mixture of £1 and £2 coins in her tin and had £545 in total! :T Anyway OH wouldn't let me open ours as it isn't full so will probably be waiting a while to open it! I must add that we are only really putting £2 coins in ours though.

Got another 3 £2 coins over the weekend so we're getting there slowly!

I think things are all about to change in the Pennies household...OH is currently an apprentice electrician and due to sit his final exam at the end of September. He doesn't like where he works at the moment and is now talking about going offshore...Not sure how I feel about that to be honest...

  • Argh! Expenses still aren't in my account, getting really annoyed now...I wouldn't mind so much but they were submitted on the 21st of July!

If anyone happens to be reading this, do you know when Boots start their 3 for 2 offer?

  • Hi Pennies, haven't been on here in a while, glad you are making good progress on your debt.

I'd be interested to hear when the 3 for 2 starts in Boots too, I'm saving all my points up to buy Christmas presents with, unless of course I run out of perfume in the meantime!!!
  • Weird that my post hasn't appeared! Hope you can see this one?!!

Good work on clearing your debt.

I'm waiting for the Boots offer to start too, I've saved all my points up to get Christmas presents with.

Off to update my thread now, not that I've got anything good to report!!
