  • I'm pretty good, clock watching at work though which isn't good! Hoping the boss man will let us away an hour early, what with it being a bank holiday but I'm not holding my breath! :p

Pup got her stitches out last night, though she still has to wait another week before doing much exercise and going to the beach as she is still quite swollen and they want to give that a chance to go down. Bit of a bummer because it looks like it's going to be a nice weekend :o

Hopefully you can get it paid off today and that will be a nice Friday boost to make you all happy :D

landed up having to phone the bank and trying to get it recalled ... took ages on the phone only to be told i missed the deadline by minutes (cause i was kept on hold obviously) if the transaction is over £1000 they do a b.a.c.s instead ... if i had known that i would have went into the bank i had the account in ... it was just easier for me to transfer to a different bank that is in my village so that i didnt have all the hassel of going into town .... now i have the hassel of waiting till next week .... arrrrrggggghhhhhh

but i think i will class it as paid (cause i know it will be) and do an update anyhoo

glad pup is getting better slowly ... wouldnt the sea water help her heal?

    Hi Pennies,

How did you get your statement off the student loans folk? I usually get mine in July sometime, but I haven't had it yet. I did move house earlier in the year, so hoping that I did remember to change the address!

Hope you are doing ok, good news about the pup!
  • Hi smilerwoman.

I didn't get a statement through from them and wasn't sure when I was due one so I just phoned them.

They have a pretty helpful website www.studentloanrepayment.co.uk that will give you the number you need - sorry not sure where about you are in the UK! :p

Once you have spoken to them you can ask for account details for that site too so that you can log in and view your balance and also make payments online.

    Hope that helps :)

  • Well not posted in a few days so thought I would do a little update since I'm off today :D

Didn't really do that much at the weekend other than tackle the housework, including the HUGE pile of ironing :j We popped in to town but didn't really get much, just some cards for upcoming birthdays/anniversarys and went to the trusty old poundland :p

Meeting up with a couple of my friends today, don't get to see them too often now that they both have kids, but should be good fun. Both their kids are just starting to walk, so no doubt lunch will be spent chasing them around!

On the money saving front, haven't had any £2 coins in a wee while, always seems the way! Now got just over £75 in the VSP, I think I mentioned before that I am adding this to my ISA, this isn't the only money in my ISA as I've set up a direct debit so that I am saving every month. Hopefully by the end of the year I'll have a nice little figure in the ISA :)

I had to put petrol in the car over the weekend so hopefully that will last me until payday on Friday. Also still have the direct debit to go out and hoping to pay £20 off the student loan...

Think I am just repeating myself now, but it help keeps me focussed :rotfl:

    Hi Pennies!

How are you? Hope life is sunny and happy and that you had a nice day off! :j

When you get petrol, do you have a loyalty card or anything? I use Morrisons Miles and Tesco Clubcard and it makes such a difference. If you have to get it anyway, might as well get some money back on it!

glad to see things are still ticking over for you .... sometimes it is nice just to waffle on a bit it helps (me anyway) to stay focussed and to realise exactly what you have achieved ... isnt housework a pain in the butt though ? it just swallows up my time ... but i know it has to get done
  • Just when I say there's been no £2 coins for a while I go and get two nice shiney ones as change in town today :p

Thanks smilerwoman, yes we have both the morrisons miles and tesco clubcard. Makes a difference, I think so anyway!

Yes El, housework is a pain in the butt and I hate it with a passion :p but like you say it has to be done!

you know how some people can look at the house afterwards and smile knowing it is all clean and tidy ? not me i look at it and think how long can i stretch it out till i have to do it again ...

2x£2 coins ... nice one ... there cant be many left in circulation there are so many of us collecting them lol ... although the thieving barstewards that broke into my house got away with loads
  • Yes El, I am exactly the same, try to put the housework off for as long as I can.

I am having the WORST day at work today. Already been on the verge of tears once and have a feeling that it isn't going to get much better. :(

Not much going on in the money saving front, skint til Friday (payday) so will probably update then.

Sorry I haven't been on anyone elses diaries much, not really in the mood at the moment :o
