I agree with you and I do know what true depression is having had to be treated for it following PTSD.

However I would honestly expect anyone suffering clinical depression to be treated , as i was, with anti-depressants, counselling etc. I would seriously question anyone who claims to have clinical depression but opts not to have any treatment. And who is able to post fairly coherently on here for hours on end.
These are the questions I asked. Basically I just wanted to know if you were accusing Ash of lying.

Im not accusing anyone of anything but what you can see for yourself, just read her posting history, I didnt, I read them as they came and as the days became weeks its obvious that her posts contradict themselves in a way that makes you doubt every word that shes types.

I have been treated for clinical depression and PTSD (now adjustment disorder) and if more people have real treatment instead of just idleing there wouldnt be as many people who now see no cure and a lifetime of disability benefits and not being able to work.

Because of course, it's so easy to ask for help and then get therapy - not! I know people who have waited over a year to get some sort of therapy.

Many of us also do have extra costs too.

    A year?

Mine took many years (4 or 5 I think and the 15 since in adjustment disorder) and no therapy is quick but to attain a halfway decent state of mind its well worth it, benefits shouldnt matter, state of mind should.

    And who mentioned costs?

Too many people are hanging on to issues instead of wanting to be made ok, if your ok you have to join the real world and in many cases thats what people are scared of so they dont want to be ok.

Some people want the world to cosset them, look after them and support them, the benefit changes are going to change that.

You're assuming that therapy fixes everything - it doesn't. And how do I know that? ecause it has't worked for me and I do know someone else who it hasn't worked for.

do you not realise some people might be worse of because of this either bringing bad memorys back, and to get to a half decent state of mind you have to be ready to even go there in the 1st place

I cant be bothered to look up stats on this and then link onwards to the stats of what a positive attitude to treatment can make to a positive result, you have two viewpoints and me a KK are the same number of viewpoints but we have been helped by treatment.

I am not cured of my clinical depression or PTSD but Im not in hell anymore.

i will never be cured of PTSD either. Periods of stress (last time was when my husband was extremely ill) will see a return to horrifying flashbacks which mean I cannot go to bed and the convinced i am about to die panic attacks. However with my GP's help, medication and counselling I can get it locked away again for awhile. It is always lurking in the background though.

Exactly! Asking for any form of help isn't easy either. When I had my breakdown this year, I actually denied that anything was wrong. Yet, had at least 5 people (including a care worker and GP) say the opposite to me.
