  • Ahh well done big boy, my dd has a dummy and she is nearly three. Once potty training has been sorted, the dummy will be next!!
  • My godness, have finally got through my mammouth mountain of shifts! just done 7 12hr shifts in 8 days and feeling every hour today.

im not quite sure whats going on with my bank account but it seems to be getting more into the overdraft! gonna have to start comparing the statements to see where the money is going.

still plodding along with paying off the debts. the sofa people sent us a statement last night as its coming a year since we started paying............and they have added payment protection payments even though we said no!!!!!! gonna route out the original paperwork and get my fella to give them a ring later and get that money back! cheeky s*ds! not suprised really as the sales man wouldnt listen to what i wanted in the shop when i was trying to order my sofas, questioned and argued why i didnt want electric recliners, my choice of colour and kept trying to put a foot stool on the order! knew in my heart i should have walked out, will do next time.

making a wedding cake today for my mates wedding tomorrow so will be a little extra to go towards the debts. still have to pay the last lot of cake money off the cc too. Really want to get under £20k now as never seem to manage it, get to near it then go up!

  • I am feeling like i am getting no where with money today. Taken my eye off the ball for a week or two and now kicking myself for doing so!

well the wedding was ok at the weekend, spent a little more than we should of really, didnt help that the wedding was at 10.30am so was an all day affair. Met someone who works on the local fruit and veg stall on the market at the wedding (she knew my fella's sister) so now can get my fruit and veg for next to nothing.:D

arghhh, need to go give my head a wobble! negative is not a good thing, need to get my head back in the right place.

Chin up Rags - I think we all have days/months lol where we seem to be getting no where with the old debt busting. I know it took me ages to get under the £3000 mark it really did feel like forever and things keep cropping up. Even once the credit card is paid I have a loan for £7000 to start tackling - so have a feeling its gonna be a long haul! Keep smiling:):)

    Next £200

    I will get rid!!!!
  • Thanks pinky!!

I am still here but only seem to have time to read and run at the moment. Doing crazy amount of shifts again this month but it will all be worth it come payday (i hope)

Back in the overdraft good style now, kicking myself even harder now! its amazing how much a few wedings and hen/stag dos can take you over budget and we havent finished with them yet!
will get back on track, done it once before. Hoping to have credit card and mil paid off in the first few months of next year so can use a months overtime after that to get back towards the black before we start saving for the wedding.

major panic all day yesterday as just breifly heard about the child benifit cuts and just heard the £45k mark. We hit that as a household income last year with all the overtime me and OH put in so thought i was gonna lose that on top of losing my tax credits! listened properly later and hoping i understand it now and i wont?????

on another 4 shifts in a row week, so best get by backside in gear and go get ready.

  • Its good about the tax credits not being based on joint income if it means you wont lose it! Wouldnt be good to lose the tax credits AND Child benifit!!
Hope the 4 shifts do not seem to take forever!! Dont know how you work so many long shifts, look after the kids and keep a house running!!! You must be a superwomen :)

I understood it as one person on an income of 44K not joint, so even tho you went over the barrier last year you did that as a couple not on your own..... is that right?

  • Thanks everyone, i wish i was a superwoman.

As it is its my first day off this week and i am doing a mammouth clean as the house looks like a bombs hit it!!! i have an ironing pile that makes mount everest look small, beds that need changing, bedrooms to polish and hoover (try and do this more often due to ds1 and OH's asthma but not getting chance to lately) and a bathroom suite that is not gleaming white anymore. Have spent the morning doing downstairs with ds2 (he is getting quite good with a duster!) and just need to mop the kitchen floor (with stardrops as needs a good clean) and sofas to wipe down (the beauty of leather and children) when ds2 goes for his sleep.

Well i got paid today and disappointed with my wage is an understatement. Seems the tax man is rubbing his hands together when he saw my wage and helped himself to most of my overtime. Wondering whether it is actualy worth doing the overtime now?? But on the plus side i still have some overtime in there to put towards the cc, just need to run through things before i commit to how much to transfer.

right, off for a hot brew before ds2 goes for his nap then back to cleaning.
