  • Thats settled my mind and ds1 will be getting the bike from santa, thank you!!!! mothers guilt is a terrible thing!

Well have had a pants week off. Someone called in sick on monday so i suddenly developed tourettes syndrome and found myself saying "yes i can come in". came to my senses too late but then added that i can only work till 3 so saved myself another 12 hour shift. Then ended up staying 2 nights in hospital with ds2 as he got bit by sil's dog at our house on sunday and despite dressings and antibiotics it swelled up really bad and started going up his arm so he needed iv antibiotics. On the plus i get extra money from the 6 hours on monday and 12 hours on sunday and OH is working tomorrow and worked on wed.

Have provisionally booked a wedding date and venue.:D 9th june 2012!!! We are going to sit down later and work out whether we can save enough in 16 months or so (will start to save in march next year and hope to have the cc and mil paid by then)

Not much else going on dfw wise, grocery shopping shouldnt be so much for next week seen as we havent eaten much as not been home. OH finally got his overtime money so will have £100 winging its way to the cc bringing it to just over £1.5k!!!!!!!! Might not be able to overpay by much next month as if we confirm the wedding venue the £500 will be going there as the deposit.

Have a huge pan of mince on the go at the minute, bulked out of course with grated veg and lentils. Will have some for tonight then will get some puff pastry out the freezer and turn the rest into mince pies/pastys for tea/lunch boxes/freezer.

cant believe it is nearly november already, where has this year gone?!

  • Im excited about the wedding but also feeling a little guilty as the money we save for it in the next year or so could of made a massive dent in our debts......................................

We have decided though that 2011 will be saving for the wedding/honeymoon, 2012 (after the wedding) will be back to knuckling down with the debts) and when we are debt free (2013-2014) we will save up for another year and put our house up for sale and move to a nicer house. Then we will put some away in savings for rainy day and some to paying off teh mortgage quicker. By this point both kids will be in school full time so will not have the expense of childcare like we do now so should have more disposable income.

Gonna buy a diary today (student ones go from sept luckily)and use that as a planner for the house incl bills due, meal planner, jobs to be done round the house and days working, birthdays etc. will also put a piece of paper in on the weekend days so we can put down things we need for shopping as we need it instead of trying to remember. Hoping this wil keep me and OH in check.

Xmas is going to be a cheap do this year and hoping to spend just over £100 on both boys (not each!) and family will be cheap also. Going halves with my brother for my mum and dad and going to group their birthdays in with it as my dads birthday is on xmas day and my mums is on the 12th day of xmas. Looking at possible days out like wine tasting or something?????? Oh's sister needs a microwave so cheap one from supermarket, brother will either be a cheap crate of beer or clothes, not sure bout mil and fil yet. Nieces and nephews will be books as they dont seem to have any.

Have also found a good £30 worth of luncheon vouchers from a survey site that i had forgotten about so will be using them in mr a's (i know how much the staff there love to put through the vouchers individually:rotfl:) dont know whether to use on treats, food, wine or toys. Toys will more than likely win.

  • Don't feel guilty. You have to have a life alongside the debtbusting, you need the nice stuff to make the hard stuff bearable x

Good idea to get a diary, I use my filofax to organise us - diary, meal plans, monthly budgets, shopping lists, to do lists... I'd be lost without it.

Your Christmas gift plans sound good, what are you getting your youngest for Christmas? He's about the same age as my boy as I recall, and I like to pick up ideas! We've got DS a train set, thinking of getting a couple more small gifts tho.

  • Is it sad that i secretly love it when its cold outside as it means i can have a nice hot steamy bowl of porridge?! I know you can have it all year round but it tastes nicer when its cold.:o not so keen on seeing so much dark though, i now go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, no wonder i feel fed up at the moment.

Well, happy first of the month everyone!!!!!!

Not much going on for me, mortgage came out today and loan coming out on wed, other than that its just sitting tight till payday next week. didnt get my diary the other day, begrudge paying an arm and a leg for one so will have a wonder to the market tomorrow and get a cheapy one.
