  • Feeling a little more in control of myself now, although things are still stressing me out, like telling the mil that there is no point her doing a seperate shop fpr herself as there is no where to put it and the kids will want to eat it if they see it. Said she can just tell us if she needs anything food wise and we will just add it to the weekly shop. She then came up with "oh, i dont know what i want from one day to the next" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I am not emptying a cupboard to make room for her stuff. Also the OH keeps giving her stuff to use without asking like ds2's wardrobe and chest of drawers. Have put my foot down and said the chest of drawers will be going into the kids room as have no where to put ds2s clothes. He said they can go in ds1's wardrobe so i made him go and have a look as its chocker full. Im not budging, we shouldnt have to suffer to please her. she has her own furniture after all!

Ok, ranting again! will stop now. promise.

Have got 2 cake orders for xmas!!!!:D thats an extra £50 coming in (they are only small ones and sponge not fruit) Did some snowmen muffins for the school xmas fair today and loads of the other mothers commented so hopefully they will keep me in mind if they need a cake! also doing a birthday cake for tomorrow. My dream is to now do it as a full time job. think its my calling! :rotfl:always wanted to be a pastry chef when at school untill i realised that i would have to start at the bottom chopping veg and then work my way up. the savory part doesnt interest me. I did my work experience at school in a bakery! (still dont know how or why im a nurse!)

WOW! I think you are an excellent DIL for letting her move in so dont beat yourself up about it. If my MIL moved in I would move into my MUMs!! And yes you would still have tricky moments if it was your Mum moving in.
    Hugs, and keep calm!!!!

Sorry to LOL but I did, just a little.

Right back and serious now. Keep calm, its not forever (despite how it may currently feel) the more annoyed you get inside the worse everything will feel and something that normally wouldnt bother you will wind you up royally. And you can always come and moan to us here in the secret world of Narnia, no wait MSE!

    HUGS!!! x x

  • You are so right pipsmum, little things that wouldnt bother me are now annoying me so much!!!!

Feel a little better today as its my day off and she is at work so its my house once again! I know i should be grateful that she is buying lots of food an that for the house but feel she is taking over slightly and trying to outdo me. I made the kids bananas and custard for pudding the other day, next minute i have loads of bananas and boxes of custard, same with rice pudding whilst telling everyone she has bought the kids "their favourite" And i know shes my OH's mum, but isnt it my job to look after him now?! oh well, thinking of the extra money and money saved on food. It is the first week so surely it will get better?

Have done half my xmas shopping, just need to order a few bits for others and im done! dont think i will have spent even half of what i have saved so all good.

  • Feeling much better now, got used to mil being here and now think that if she wants to spend her money on the finer things in life (that being brand name stuff:rotfl:) then she can, saves me money!

Well have a confession, not doing so well in the dfw stuff. Hit the overdraft wall again! so have transferred it to the 0% card (had another offer so will be 0% till dec next year) which means my debt total is wrong and the credit card is now back up in the £4k mark. dam and blast.

But, no negativity........................gonna ring up the mortgage people and see if i can move the payment date till after i get paid, that way it will come out at the start of our cycle and not the end. This should help big style as then i will know what i have left and wont be paying the mortgage and childcare bill at the end of my pay cycle. Fingers crossed they will do it. Means i will effectivly have a mortgage free month this pay cycle if they do :D.

Have done an order with approved foods, got bits and pieces i needed and then some goodies for over the xmas hols. I didnt know they had also started selling veg and potatoes! fine if you are buying stuff already but the postage is a bit steep if not.

Really need to finish my xmas shopping, but ds1 off school today as the cold weather has started his asthma off and school keep sending him out to play in it despite me telling them again and again. would of been outdoor pe today, that would just be asking for trouble. Might get them both engrossed in a game upstairs whilst i quickly order it!

So glad i am off for 4 days now, in the last 2 weeks i have had only 4 days off (reason for not so much on here) and am treated to a weekend of strictly on the telly!!!!! How i would love one of the dancers bodies, all nice and toned. (santa bringing me their exercise dvd so who knows:rotfl::p)

right, off for a brew. Feel some baking coming on today. nom nom!

Thats really bad that the school doesnt listen to you about DS health.
Fingers crossed the mortgage company let you, i think they must be used to people finding this time of year a bit of a struggle so lets hope they are helpful and understanding.

Enjoy your brew and baking, might join you x x:coffee:

  • I have had a very productive morning...........loads of washing done and being dried, cancelled an old store card i had forgotten i had till they sent me a statement saying £0.00, got £1.15 transfered from an old credit card that couldnt close down fully as there was still a balance on it and finally got through to someone from the mortgage people only to be told my direct debit couldnt be moved, but if i pay £25 a year i can change it to a standing order! ummm, no thanks, dont want to pay more than i need to thank you very much.
Oh also got £18 credited onto my phone account as upgraded my phone last week, on fri they stopped my old sim working and waiting for my new phone to be delivered today some time. so got 3 days worth of "rent" back and £10 as a goodwill gesture for the inconvinence!

Almost finished my crimbo shopping, Have got enough vouchers now from surveys to get sil's microwave and just need to find something for my dad and brother. All the rest just needs to be delivered.

Its ds1's birthday today, cant believe he is 6 already!!! he is happy as we got him swimming lessons for his birthday and as a treat we took him swimming at the weekend, he loves it and ds2 loves being in the water too although tends to try and drink most of it :rotfl:

Well the overdraft is now transfered and i am trying so hard to keep the numbers in the black. Need to keep the OH on the staright and narrow as well, we are both easily led and think we have lots of money when its payday when in reality its nearly all accounted for. must try and change that mind set otherwise we will never get out of this mess.

right, off for a brew and a sneaky biccie.

    Hi Rags!

Just a thought re mortgage payment..... could you transfer your mortgage payment amount out of your account on the day you get paid, into another (just for mortage payment) account and then use this account to make the payment. They may not like you changing the date of your payment, but I don't see why you cannot change the account it comes out of.

Just an idea - might help as you wanted the money gone earlier in the month! ?
