Ok, you asked for it.........................................................wedding talk!!!!!!
So have booked venue, having the actual wedding and do there so no need for cars and that. Got a great deal that includes drinks on arrival, meal and to toast, meal for 60, evening buffet for 60, dj, 3 tier cake, chair covers, honeymoon suite for the night (which is sooooo gorgeous i made sure i picked a date where i was the first to book to get it!:D) room hire for day and night, wedding planner in the hotel and prob a few other little bits i have forgotten about, all for £5k!!!! its gonna cost us more as the evening do total so far is gonna be up around 180ish people so guessing about £6k?
Found and ordered my wedding dress (really early i know but hey ho) i have only tried the one dress on that made me look like a hippo and the style i have gone for looks elegant and more of what i think i will suite. Its £100 and from china. Thought it was a complete bargain, but a little nervous now as everyone keeps pulling a face telling me how brave i am getting a dress i havent tried on. And made the mistake of looking on the wedding forum in here and the overseas dresses were getting mixed reviews. Please keep your fingers crossed it turns out nice and exactly like the picture.
Photographer booked, paying a little more than i wanted to but its an old school friend and her pictures are amazing! Didnt want the typical photos where you stand in a horseshoe shape and everyone slots in around the bride and groom, and she is quite creative and tends to catch alot of "in the moment" shots which are really good.
Have a new nurse at work who does flowers for a hobby and said she will do mine!!!! much cheaper than a florist. Table decs are gonna be fishbowls on mirrored plates with scattered crystals and tealights. Inside the bowls there will be blue roses in the bottom tier and white in the top with that grass stuff whirling round the bowl (looks nicer than what i have just described! lol!)
Bridemaids dresses are coming off ebay and are just nice one shoulder maxi dresses. Have yet to find suits but looking at possibly buying rather than renting as may work out cheaper. To save money we will only be suiting the groom, best man and ds1 and 2.
Hair and make up is being covered by my hairdresser, for free!!!!!
Have been given a really gorgeous necklace to wear as my something old, offer of a gorge bracelet as my something borrowed and gonna get some tidy blue shoes to finish off the ryme.

No posts for ages then loads in one day!
I have stupidly looked at all i owe (not done this since first few months of the year) and i dont know why but am disappointed in the figures. Thought they may have budged a little more than they have. The amount i have in the wedding fund would clear my overdraft in one go. (did i mention i had slipped back into old bad habits?!)
Now the pratical one in my head wants to try and get the figures down, where the fairytale dreamer wants to try and save as much money as possible for the wedding.
so i am drawn, heart and head. again!!
but i will not feel down, instead i will be pro-active. I will try and save WHILST sticking to a budget and therefore reduce the overdraft over time.
Really looking into opening another account for the wages to be paid into and use the one i have as a bills account or the other way round as so scared they will take my wedding fund off me for the overdraft as i keep hearing so much about offsetting. Least we will know how much money we have left to play with for the month.
how does everyone else manage??December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Wow you sound sooo organised with the wedding plans!!! We had fish bowls as our table center pieces and they looked lovely!! Fingers crossed for the dress! Im sure it will be fine in the end - will you get it altered if it needs it etc? £100 is a bargain!!
Try not to worry about the debts - they are going down! Just might be a bit slower then you had originally planned.GC: Nov: £60.22/£450 Oct: £338.48/£450, July: £363.05/£450, June £447.98/£500£2 savers No68: £104/£100 :j:jmummy to: 8yr, 5yr, 3yr, 2yr, 1yr. No6 Due Mar 2013 My world.:j0 -
My Internet is down (as is most of the northwest according to sky woman) so typing this on my phone!!!
Have gone through my incomings and outgoings and hadn't realised what a difference not getting the small amount of tax credits made! I am gonna have to reduce wedding savings by £100 just to have some money as extra and I did round up some numbers but all good. Not included my payrise as no idea what it will be. But can see why we have gone back into the overdraft.
Can't wait till after the wedding now to shift this debt. Should be easier as now have money left after paying everything and ds2 starts nursery this sept so childcare will reduce!
Have a week off this week as childminder on holiday so taking advantage and doing home cooked food for tea! Yesterday I split a pack of mince and made a shepards pie for tea and as I bulked out the mine it also made a small one for the freeze, then turned the other half of the mince into bolognaise for the kids to go in the freezer. Used up some turnip that was left over from Sunday roast in the mash. Tonight is garlic chicken and potatoes to use a left over chicken mil bought.December 2018: £20,850.24. Not much difference in the numbers after 6 months, caused by transfering the overdraft twice more and still have ended back in it. not included the overdraft as the numbers change constantly depending on paydays and stuff.
Bit depressing but still, at least it hasnt gone up!! And i know that if i carry on paying only the minimum amounts i will be debt free in 2014 anyway as thats when all the credit agreements end. But would prefer to do it sooner.

I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!
DS1 is being so naughty at the moment, full of attitude, not doing as hes told and answering back and then ds1 and ds2 constantly fight!!!!! Bed times were a massive problem as they are still having to share but seem to have solved that a little with staggered bedtimes.
So how does everyone else with more than one kid cope??
Sick of hearing my own voice telling them off all the the time. Cant leave them to fight it out as they winge and cry loudly and still having problems with the neighbours. (you would think we were like an asbo family you see on the tv not a normal family with young 'uns the way they carry on)
After we are married and debt free we are gonna save like mad to get a big deposit together and move. Need to be somewhere that the kids can be kids and we can relax in our own house.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hello!!!
Having a major tidy up of the house yet again, it seems every 4 months or so we need to have a major de-clutter!!! really dont know where it all comes from. Did the kids room yesterday and had a bit of a move around with the furniture. Also tackled the massive pile of clothes that seemed to have found its way to one of the corners and put ds1's stuff thats too smal away for ds2. Ds2's stuff needs sorting out next but hes at that really awkward stage where 2-3yr stuff is getting small but the 3-4yr stuff is still too big!
Gonna start on my wardrobe later as its full of stuff thats too big now and does my head in as looks like i have no clothes. I have lost half a stone so far this year and am now a size 11 (12 fits but is on the loose side and 10 fits but gives me a muffin top):rotfl:My wardrobe ranges from a size 16 to 10's that i have kept to try and get back into.
Not much going on money wise, im just trying to stay away from any shops. Finally got OH's wage slips and P60 and its shows that for the past 2 months he hasnt been paid the correct amount. Its only £3 less a week but that adds up over the year and his P60 will be wrong next year as will say he has earned more than he got. Yet again we are waiting for his overtime to be paid, its a record 7 months this time!!!!
Got a birthday cake order for monday, so might have a good ole baking sesh later seen as i will have the oven on. Mummy has given me a hankereing for flapjack!!!! nomnomnomnom!
now, what to make for tea???? got a huge pack of mince so might try and make homemade hamburgers.......................................December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22
