  • hey everyone, not much happening around these parts. Keeping our heads above water and not gone back into the overdraft yet.

Have almost finished getting everything sorted for xmas, was feeling a little less stressed having done most of it online, but now starting to panic as hardley any of it has been delivered when it should have been last week. Fingers crossed it all comes this week or will have to try and explain why santa hasnt been. On the plus side i am well within budget and still have £200 left from what i had saved!!!!:D

Mil is still living with us and looks like it will turn into a long term thing. my house is strating to feel a little small and feeling quite chlostrophobic (sp?) the extra money is handy but starting to realise that money isnt everything if your not happy.

tried on a wedding dress the other day and the image i had of what type of dress i would have and how nice i would look was shattered!!!!!! i felt the size of an elephant and not at all elegant and pretty.:o always wanted an a line skirt but may have to go for something a little slimmer. but ooh when i have lost a little weight and can do the whole bride thing of spending hours trying on dresses!!!!:D

we have snow here again with more forecast, as much as i love snow i am getting a bit sick of it. none of our paths are cleared of gritted so makes getting anywhere dangerous with the kids as having to walk on the roads, with the streets not classed as main roads as bad as the paths and cars sliding everywhere. Good excuse for staying in and having a pj day with the kids (MIL is at work today so can:p)

Try on lots of dresses, its the only time you can get away with it! I love the episode of friends when Phoebe, Rachel and Monica are all sat watching TV and drinking beer in Wedding dresses :-)

Did they let you do something about the mortgage payment?

2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!

He he he, this will be me!! washing up, housework, making dinner................ all done in my dress after the wedding!!!! :rotfl:

Cant move the day i pay my mortgage unless i pay a fee every year. So decided that seen as i have set up direct debits to the cc for the min payments i will then overpay what i can at the end of the month so i know how much i have left to overpay with. Was overpaying at the start of the month and was prob underestimating how much we spent as got to the overdraft limit pretty quickly.

Have had one of my parcels delivered today!!!!!!!!! have sent an email to the toy shop as not saying despatched on the screen and i payed extra to have it delivered on the 17th. should hopefully hear back tomorrow as they state they reply within 48 hrs. They dont seem to have a phone number to ring though..........................................

Went shopping yesterday for food for the week..................and so did the mil so have enough food to last till new year i think! Funny how the kids prefer stuff from aldi rather than brand food (like rice pudding, sausage rolls, beans etc) much to my amusement and mil's annoyance as she goes overboard buying their "favourites".

so nearly new years, whats all your resolutions gonna be???????!

Hope you get other parcel sorted, annoying if you paid extra for delivery.

My resolution will be to get back to being organised. I have felt out of control for the entire year.
What will yours be? x x

Ha ha ha ha!!!!:rotfl:No, mil is still very much with us!

Been a hectic christmas this year, worked alot leading up to and after xmas so feeling as if i have missed the big event really. The boys had a great day and even though they didnt get massive amounts of presents they loved what they got.

Money wise i am waiting for the new year really, didnt manage to pay off £10k this year but was close at £9461.42. Not made a huge difference to my overall debt total as kept going into the overdraft so am basically still where i was this time last year!!!!!:mad::mad::eek::mad::mad::mad::o
Thing is 2011 is my year to save for the wedding so not much debt busting happening now and it is playing on my mind.

    New years resolutions:
    • lose weight (eat less carp and move my butt more)
    • stop stressing out so much, sets off my ibs and hate feeling ill,
    • look after myself better,
    • enjoy spending time with the boys when im off instead of stressing that i am damaging them by working full time.
    • try to keep out of the overdraft, reign in our spending.
So, heres to a brand new year! fresh slate and fresh determination!!!!! I will save for my wedding, not add to my debt and have will owe less than i do now!!!!!

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Well my new years resolutions are going well, been ill with a flu type bug so have had to look after myself and have lost a little weight as not eaten for 4 days :rotfl::rotfl:. Not been knocked off my feet like that in a long time. My throat is still sore and swollen which is making my neck stiff but am now functioning as a human again.

My house on the other hand looks like a bombs gone off!!!!!!!! major cleaning needed today if my body can take it.

Need to open an account at some point for my wedding fund. The one i was looking at had a high % rate but only allows one withdrawel in a year, no good for me as guessing will have to pay deposists on stuff along the way. How excited am i now i can say im getting married next year!!!!! makes it seem a little more real.

So the plan is: put the money we were paying to the mil and the cc towards the wedding and the money mil gives us will go towards the cc. will hopefully have mil paid off this month.:D this eases my mind a little about getting married when i have lots of debt to pay back, this way im doing both!!!!!

  • Well i am feeling a little more human today am so glad! OH has gone back to work today after being off over xmas and new year (bit of a shock to his system, its the only bit that makes me glad im not off for the hols)

Me and the OH had a good chat about our finances and i think i have him back on board. He is now leaving his wallet at home and will keep a tenner in the wagon for emergancies (time running out and needing to pay for parking etc) and i am gonna keep out of the shops on my days off. No more ooh we NEED this and that but whilst we are here lets see what else i can buy moments. The mil bought him a new flask and a cup that keeps the drinks hot for xmas so he is gonna start using that (only coz she wont stop nagging at him as she can see he's not using HER present:rotfl:)

Its the first day me and the kids have had soley together, and we have had good fun baking my mum a birthday cake, ds1 was in charge of making sure the scale got to the right number and craking open the eggs and ds2 was in charge of supervising and putting the bits we didnt need in the bin. No arguments or fights and was lovely.

After today its back to being super organised and no more lazy mornings. Ds1 is ready to go back to school as him and ds2 have started to fight like mad, really dont think my house is big enough for everyone living here. The kids dont get their own space, neither do i.......................................

need to get back into meal planning, OH came round to the idea, now to make his mother!!!!
