PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

They took £500 as a deposit initially and told me that I would not get £300 back as it was used to create the tenancy agreement. Then they said that £200 would be used as a cleaning fee, but I left the flat spotless. When I moved in, the flat was wasn't clean.
Contact a specialist housing solicitor or the CAB because it sounds like that £200 was a deposit and should have been protected. If someone confirms that, you should find out about getting the money returned through the County Court (and a possible 3x penalty for non-compliance with the tenancy protection laws).
Going on previous form (from a about 3 years ago), a stern letter before action may be enough to get the money back. Sunil Dhown seems like a cretinous individual.0 -
"Cretinous" is certainly not one of the words I'd use to describe this individual. Quite the opposite in fact. I can think of an adjective beginning with "C" which would describe his firm's antics adequately.0

It's been at least 90 mins since the last important reminder, that before one considers IRD homes one should do an internet search to find the experiences of previous tennants!0
