I personally think Mr Sunil Dhown of IRD Homes is a bit of a jeremy hunt

Blimey - almost two years since I was last here.
I think Sunil Dhown & IRD Homes might be going for the 'longest running thread' record.
Sadly, a Google search shows that things don't appear to have changed in all this time.

Wonder if anybody is still thinking of doing business with Sunil Dhown of IRD Homes. This tribunal decision from April shows that he tried to hike the rent of a single mother with a 3 year old daughter by £480/month, and allegedly threatened to evict her if she refused to agree, claiming he was struggling to secure remortgages for his properties "having difficulty securing credit to the extent required and was now at the maximum of what he could borrow."When she refused the rent hike, he took her to a housing tribunal, and obtained an eviction order, after claiming he needed to regain possession of the property because he intended to sell it. Although the tenant doubted the legitmacy of his claim that he intended to sell the property, Dhown affirmed to the tribunal that he "intended on marketing the property for sale within three months of the Respondent having vacated." The tribunal granted the eviction order on this ground, while acknowledging that the mother and her three year old daughter "would be at risk of homelessness if an eviction order was granted", that the mother would likely lose her job due to being unable to secure alternative accommodation in the local area and the child would have to change nursery school.Yet more than eight months on, there doesn't appear to be any record of a sale, not does the property appear to be on the market. Of course, there's absolutely zero chance that Sunil Dhown of IRD Homes was lying to the tribunal, so it's hard to understand what has happened here. Must be some sort of technical glitch I guess.poppy103
