Anna yes it is:
OK, help me out.
Were you told that your deeposit had gone into a deposit protection scheme and hasnt? Or did they jsut take the deposit and not say anything.
Please give us as much info as possible about the deposit, when you gave it ( ie what yr did you give your deposit) what you thought was going to happen to it, and any other info at all, about what they said to you.
I'm sure we will be able to help more:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Anna,
Was it actually called a 'deposit'? or something else? The adverts I have seen specifically state that no deposit is required?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
I lived at Magnum house in Kingston, it was the worst experience ever, nothing worked!!!!
My flat was disgusting when I moved in,I called Ird's office and some woman who couldn't speak English with a bad attitude claimed it had been professionally cleaned.
The locks were broken on the back entrance to the car park where gangs were loitering at night, the communal areas were filthy, stairway lights had gone so it was completely dark and scary at night.
It didn't help that there was a lanky homeless man who was hovering around the building a few a nights a week, which was terrifying.
There is plenty more to mention but the list will go on forever.
I had been threatend with a rent increase, and if did not pay they would serve me notice. The contract I had signed was ridiculous, they would not let me proof read it before coming to the office 7 Sloane Court in Isleworth. As I had already paid my deposit I was left in a position where I had no choice but to sign it and move in.
I don't know if it was SUNIL DHOWN, but whilst I was at the office I saw a rather disturbing character dressed in a tracksuit shouting and swearing at people in the room next door.
I am TRYING to get my deposit back but no one evers answer the phone in that office, I left the place clean and always paid my rent on time!!!
They are USELESS PEOPLE!!!! I wish I had read this forum as well as the others posted on other websites before putting my deposit down!!
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEIR PROPERTIES AND COMPANY, THEY WILL ONLY RIP YOU OFF!!!
Oh dear, I'm sorry that you have had such a bad time with such a dodgy company.
Does anyone know if Sunil Dhown still runs IRD homes and if they are still based at Sloane Court in Isleworth.
I hear they have a great reputation
Bumpity bumpity bump :cool:0 -
Sunhil, old buddy. Where have you been?
I've missed this thread about IRD Homes run by Sunil Sunhil Dhown.

They took £500 as a deposit initially and told me that I would not get £300 back as it was used to create the tenancy agreement. Then they said that £200 would be used as a cleaning fee, but I left the flat spotless. When I moved in, the flat was wasn't clean.0

When did you move into the property, was your deposit registered in one of the schemes and was there an inventory done at the beginning and at the end?
£300 to create the tenancy agreement is fantasy-land but these folks are more slippery than an eel by all accounts.0 -
anna1987 - have you been in touch with the private sector housing dept for Kingston Council and/or the Trading Standards Office?0

what conversation did you have with them about the £500 "deposit"? because they usually do not write down what things are for, if something has changed, etc. So if your receipt only says deposit but your discussion before implied that it was returnable, you could be in with a chance. Do you have anything in writing about the £300 fee for printing off a contract from his computer? this is about the same as what other agents charge but they state this beforehand. Did this company? the same with cleaning - they have to let you know b4. Any company who does not let you read paperwork b4 you sign, walk away from them..0
