Oh I know! We've had a couple 100 from there before but this time I'm serious - if its not nailed down its going!!! My attic will be emptied tomorrow - no mercy!!

and Mr P has only had 2 cigs today :T0 -
As an ex-smoker, I found that electric cigarettes were amazing to help quit. I used a site called totally wicked (can't remember exact web address) but it's basically a metal/plastic fag that you put liquid into (with varying amounts of nicotine) and this liquid vaporises into a smoke like consistency...... I'm not explaining very well but it feels just like smoking but costs a load less and you slowly cut back the nicotine level until you are nicotine free and then you just have to give up the "smoking" habit.
There are loads of different sites but if you look for totally wicked they have videos and explanations etc. Really fabulous for me, worked really well.0 -
Hey Pic, just read your thread with interest.
Just a quick question about Mr Pic - if he uses his own car for company mileage then he's able to claim a refund from HMRC for the tax paid on the difference between the mileage he gets from his employer and what HMRC set as an approved rate. Here's the link : http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/incometax/relief-mileage.htm
If he qualifies for it, I believe you can claim for several years back.
Just a thought, hope it helps!

Hi shebrett and ChefBungle
Interesting ideas from you both - will look into!
Thanks!0 -
Hi Chef,
Mr P thinks he won't qualify as his company pay him a car allowance as well as mileage (although the car is his) - and I can't make sense of the website
Is there a helpline number anywhere please, cos I can't find one, or even a queries email address? 0 -
I am the same as Mr P and don't qualify because my mileage is 48p plus I get £100 monthly allowance - all of which brings me well above HMRC allowance ( theirs is 40p per mile)LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!

Hi RMC,
His mileage is a paltry 16p a mile! But he gets £500 allowance for the car - would that still take him over?0 -

It's all included in his pay packet, and covers the loan on the car, so not as good as it sounds!

yes mine is too!
I would doubt he is entitled to further tax relief with that much of an allowance but he should ask payroll in his work just to be sure!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.
