Icey77, making the decision to have a termination is very hard. I hope you have plenty of physically and emotional support to bring you a speedy recovery. Wishing you all the best.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

The marie stopes website has lots of information on what actually happens with both types of termination. They also have a telephone helpline.
They dont describe it as actually 'giving birth' as the previous poster described it - They say "You may experience discomfort, very strong cramps and heavy bleeding with medical abortion (the abortion pill). This normally lasts for a few days until the pregnancy has passed".
So not disimilar to a heavy period - if you do have heavy bleeding it's worth eating iron rich foods or even thinking about iron supplements.
Some people have feelings of sadness afterwards but not everyone does.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
Wow, I can honestly say I was not expecting the levels of support and posts of good wishes, thankyou everyone.
My BF is being great, he's proving to be a standup guy and he's going to be with me on Thursday/Friday and Saturday. I'm hoping that we're going to come out the other side and stronger for it.
I'll be taking up any offers of counselling that my GP makes and I'm arranging alternative birth control so that this does not happen again.
Thankyou to everyone that has posted their experiences, anything is better than nothing at this point.
IC xWhether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
I had one at 15 and never regretted it. I was not at all thinking of it as anything other than a "bunch of cells" so that helped. People who get attached to the idea of it becoming a baby are the ones who will struggle afterwards. I've had kids now though so wouldn't. It was totally the best decision for me at that time.
I was in at about 6pm to have the first pill and told to go back the next day at 8am when they'd insert 4 pessaries which would empty the womb.
Well i was up all night with cramps and sat on the loo while i gushed blood! Seems the first tablet already did the job of emptying. I saw the contents and obviously wish i never, but i was more fascinated by it than anything else.
Next day i went in and had to wee into a hat all day so they could check the clots, but this was okay as it had all happened during the night for me.
Simple as that really. Just make sure you're 100% sure about it... I do think about it still, but only to wonder what my life would have been like if i'd gone ahead with it.0 -

Hopefully the clinic will have given you information on medical/surgical options, although neither is "easier" it depends on the individual's circumstances.
I respect that you have come to your own personal decision and wish you a healthy recovery.Barclaycard 0% - [STRIKE]£1688.37 [/STRIKE] Paid off 10.06.120 -
As someone who has struggled and failed to conceive after 9 years trying, and 6 IVF attempts I personally can not imagine ever coming to your decision, HOWEVER I do not know your situation and am sure you have not come to this decision easily or lightly.
Therefore I hope that things go as well as it is possible and that you have good social support to look after you after the event.
I hope this thread stays as sensible as it has been so far.2 angels in heaven :A0
