Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.

With respect, how could you possibly know that? Unless youve been in the situation whereby youve previously had an abortion and a miscarriage of a truely wanted baby then i dont think anyone could ever compare those feelings.

I have been in that situation. I have had a stillborn son, three miscarriages and a termination. For me, it's a toss-up between my son's death and the termination for sheer gut-wrenching suicidal misery.

It depends on the circumstances and on the individual, and no two cases of pregnancy ending without a healthy baby at the end of it (whatever the reason) will be the same. Generalising is unhelpful and pointless.

OP, I wish you a swift recovery.

Icey, wishing you all the best for the future. You've been very brave to start this thread, I'm sure it will help a lot of people.

    Take care of yourself xx
  • As a long time fan of MSE and its forum posters, I am DISGUSTED by some of the comments on here. Get real people, we live in the 21st century where we all have choices, WOMEN have choices. If you dont agree with terminations, common sense would be not to read this thread. If you have never been in the situation where you have had to make a decision to have a termination, then take your opinions elsewhere but this thread.

Icey, good luck darling and please let us know how you are. A lot of (non-judgement people!) are thinking about you xx

    Hi Icey,

I know I have come i a bit late but I wanted to say a big 'thank you' for starting this thread and for letting it continue even when things that shouldn't have been posted, were.

I had a surgical termination on 17th Feb 2005 after being bullied into it by my (now ex) boyfriend. It was a totally horrible time for me and it wasn't something I wanted to do at all. In hindsight it was the best possible outcome given the circumstances of that relationship and it has taken me years to realise this. Obviously my circumstances were different as it wasn't me who wanted the termination but I just wanted you to know that there are many of us who have been through the same thing for various reasons.

I ended up in counselling for quite some time to deal with my 'guilt' at being bullied into it but am happy with my life now and am able to talk about it.

Wishing you all the best with your recovery
