Errr. In my case as 50% of a marriage and 1 of 2 parents my child has / would have.
Nope I said that you would never be in a position to be pregnant or have to make this decision about your own body, not every woman who gets pregnant is married or has a male around.
Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.

That's why I said "In my case...."

Foetus by itself doesn't equal anything either, it needs a womb to survive.
Newborn baby by itself doesn't equal anything, it needs an adult to survive.
Massive difference legally between the two.

So being a woman is my opinion more valid than his. As a woman do I have the right to find it barbaric. N'ah thought not as it goes against your argument.

The point is your argument against sperm being comparable was that on their own they aren't anything other than sperm. I was just saying there's no point in the lifecycle that the 'baby' becomes anything other than what it is at the time. At all stages if it was left alone it would be nothing.

    Well, that's perfectly clear then....????!!!

Amazed by your comment that newborn baby doesn't equal anything without an adult. Really amazed. It is a life for crying out loud. It has as much right to live as an adult.

I don't suppose you folks would consider taking the rest of your debate over to DT and leave this thread for what it was originally intended for, which is practical support and ideas for someone consdering a termination, not an ethical debate?
You may well be putting off people who want to join in with useful advice but could do without being sidetracked and judged.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Hi OP

If you're still reading this thread (you're brave) I hope things are going well for you medically and emotionally. Take it easy this weekend and look after yourself.

There are still some useful and helpful posts being made (like IzzyWizzy's), if you can pick them out from amongst those who have descended into squabbling and bickering without seeing that they are not being helpful to your original question.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

Is she ill, has anyone forced her. Nope. Is it an open forum yes. I have offered advice about counseling which would be good for the OP and the reality that this debate as you call it is everywhere. It comes round time and time again, pretending it is a bed of roses is a little short sighted.
