Evening everyone
It feels like winter again with the howling wind round the house. Been MIA over the weekend. Have not managed much os eiether.
Went with girlfriends to see Sympony orchestra in aid of local hospice at a local stately home on Saturday evening to celebrate my forthcoming wedding. It was a fabulous night, sun was shining, we all pitched in for a picnic and took our own drink, chairs etc. The only downfall was I borrowed a pop upgazebo from a work colleague and due to the high winds overnight on Saturday, the frame totally buckled and couldnt dismantle it, so ended up an expensive evening for me as I had to buy her another 1. Thank goodness there was a sale on and managed to get 1 for £35 (orginal price in book was £89.99).
Monday is normally my day off work, but had to work today as I have managed to get an interview in a school near to where I am moving for a part time position 25 hours a week term time only, so I need Thursday off. Need lots of positive vibes for this one. Bought my train ticket today and found out that I am unable to catch any train after 2.30pm and before 7.30pm from Euston as this is commuter time and would have to pay peak rate:mad:. I can understand between 4pm and 6pm but not at 3pm, so downfall is I will have to wait 4 hours for a train back up North.
Now trying to use up what is in the cupboards and freezer as I am giving up my house on 15 August and need to empty and clean everything(note to self get some stardrops). Can I use diluted stardrops on painted walls?
I too have a young person DS1, bedroom is a tip, but touch wood never been sick on towels or in bedroom. I refuse to do his washing unless it is in the wash basket andhe has now done 2 loads in over last 2 days and pegged out on washing line. He has decided to go and work in Spain at the beginning of August with his mate, who has a job lined up for him as there is nothing going here.
Well now on countdown to my wedding - 12 days to go, my head is mushed and I cant concentrate. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Take Care.

update on the teenage bedroom - he's actually done quite a good job - not actually thrown anything out but its nice and tidy and he's changed the bedding:j it did take several attempts to get it finished.
Tomorrow his Dad is showing him the delights of hedge cutting:D(he'll be glad to look for a job for a bit of a rest:D)
we've just had home grown strawberries with a meringue and some fresh-cream for pud:) lots more strawberries almost ripe:j

Around wehen my DS was 13 years old we had a little discussion about a neighbours son who was not working. I said, well if you think you are going to doss all day while DH & I are working then you can think again, if you are not working, hence not earning, then you will be in charge of the house and garden, car washing, all the cleaning, washing, ironing, cooking, etc. Being known for not making threats but keeping promises, he took the hint, straight from school to uni, from uni to work, and not missed a day other than holidays. Uni and work meant he has not lived at home permanently since going to uni, and he knew how to fend for himself.
Room always a tip, I shut the door and only washed what was in the bin, he was educated how to use the WM, and to check if any other items in the bin were suitable to put in the same wash, tough love, or stroppy Mum (or one who hates HW) but luckily it worked, never sick in his room, though pots sometimes gathered there, until we ran out and he was sent to find them! His untidyness drove DH mad, as he is a tidy nut, he had no chance of being tidy if he took after me:o
