Doelani - my DSs room sounds just like your DSs:D a tip. He's now finished college and needs to start job-hunting. I've been guilty of doing all the housework and letting him get away with doing zilch but its just about to stop:D I've dragged him out of bed(12.15:mad:) and as soon as he's eaten he's off upstairs to transform his tip. The vaccum, polish and rubbish bag is outside his door.
I've told him if he doesn't get a job he can at least learn to look after himself and the house properly while he looks for one.Watch this space:D. Its my own fault I know - I just hope its not too late to teach him(he's 18 next weekend)
My son has left home twice......andreturned. First time it took me half a day to clean his room AFTER he did it, thought the emergency services where goign to have to rescue me because of the dust. Had a rop attached to my waste to get me out in a hurry lol

My sympathies regarding DS's bedrooms and smells. I today have just encountered both. I went into DS1 (19) room to fetch aforementioned work clothes that need washing. Now I already know his room is a hovel but even I was in for a shock:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: He had been sick (AGAIN) after a night out but had mopped it up with his work clothes and my best towels. This must have happened a few nights ago. Well this time I cant and wont salvage anything so its going to the tip (Its beyond OS). His carpet, chair, mattress and bedding. Its beyond me and Im so cross. He will have to manage without until he can afford to replace said carpets and furniture. Im actually past caring now!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hi all,
Feeling a little under the weather today. No idea what's wrong but shall battle on!
Just had my first online shop and all was well. I was quite excited about it-how sad :rotfl: I am definatly doing it again, this one was with Mr S and had a £10off code and also went through Quidco. Next order I am going through Mr T as Martin advertised a code for 1000points which could be handy.
Not much on today, done the dishes and hoovered. Weather does not know what it is doing so not risking doing a wash just to haul it in 5mins later.
If feeling better I am going to go to the gym later for a swim. Didnt get the soup made yesterday so I am going to pop it in the SC before I head out later.
Hope everyone has a nice Monday. Hugs to those in need. Pen-Pin don't let it get you down hun xSpreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -

I am extremely lucky with my DS's - DS1 is a bit of clean freak and I have never had to clean their room since they were little. They also do all their own washing and ironing and have done since they were around 12. I was determined they would make better husbands one day than their Father ever did :rotfl:Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Penpin - just so you know you're not alone..... About two weeks after my DD was born I was feeling a bit perkier and got myself ready, was able to fasten some smart trousers that didn't have elastic in them and took myself off to the shop on my own while DH looked after the kids. Came home feeling pretty bouncy and pleased with myself, brought the shopping into the kitchen, bent over to put it on the floor....and promptly p155ed myself where I stoodClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Hi everyone,
jc2703 - does your DS eat enough fruit and veg. My DD had a flatmate who went to the dentist complaining about his teeth and gums and was told that he had scurvy!!!
We had a lovely day on Saturday - drove to Hunstanton and did the first leg of the Norfolk Coast path and then stopped in Downham Market for fish and chips on the way back (we googled award winning fish and chips).
Yesterday was a washout however, as I woke with a migraine and felt ill all day, so my plans for having a good tidy round and do the ironing have now been moved to tonight.0 -

Thats terrible Moly although been there with the " using towels when sick . When my eldest left home at 17 ( he is 25 now ) I remember going to clean his room before DD moved into it , found sheets in wardrobe with dried sick on them , once also found towel inside attic door with dried sick on it WHY ????? My mum would have killed us if we had done this.
How can people think these things are ok ?

Doelani and Molly - you both have my sympathies! mine has been sick too in the past and just left it:eek: once all up the walls of his newly painted room!
I'm getting crosser now - he's up, fed but decided its time to go on the pc:mad: DH is asleep upstairs after a 1.30am start or I would be on the warpath by now. I'll let you know how it goes. I know its his own personal space but its in my house and I hate mess and dirt so he's got to follow my rules.
My 20 year old DS is just the same as his younger brother although he has better personal hygiene.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Snoozer - I think he just doen't eat enough of anything at the moment. He's has a stressful couple of months and I think his appetite has suffered as a result. Might get him some multi vitamins as its hard to control what he's eating at the minute. Complete opposite to the other one who feels starved if he doesn't eat every couple of hours!!Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness
