Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Sun 4th July. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
[*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning all, its a wonderful sunny day, didn't do much over the weekend, the weather was changeable and my left knee was grouchy. So we all took a trip to lealholme and castleton where we had a picnic and played in the water ah heaven.
Think were having some mince based food today for tea.OS things em finishing the new handbag i'm making, its looking good so far i,e it aint fell apart yet :rotfl:.
Going for a cuppa, have a good day all
special hugs to diva, penpin and any one who wants them x

Morning everyone
A nice sunny Monday morning here, but I forgot to water the spuds last night, so off out in a mo!
DS2 gone on holiday with GF now, so aim to start massive tidy up as I can dump things in his room & not have to move them at night.
Also should be spending a lot less food-wise this week (thank goodness, as I need to balance the books a bit!) :j
Today's jobs include:- Finish ALL ironing & put away EVERYTHING instead of leaving dumped in bedrooms! :rotfl:
- Baking - buns, flapjack, some sort of fruity pud
- Make a start on messy dining room

Good Morning Kezlou, Cheapskate & all to follow.
Lovely sunny weekend and its forcast all week too :j
I must admit to not too much OSling at the weekend but lots of lovely chillaxing.
Am sitting at my desk and my office looks like a bombsite with paperwork everywhere so that is the plan for today. Hopefully will persuade OH to take DS boxing tonight & I hope to get all the ironing done then.
Have got a few Christmas pressies over the last week, Paperchase had a sale & I resisted buying anything for myself but got loads of really reduced stuff, then Satuday my John Lewis order was delivered which was reduced Cath Kidston sewing boxes, all but one have been put in the pressie drawer and I now have a sewing box must admit it looks a little empty tho :rotfl:
Not sure what is for dinner tonight, I didn't get round to menu planning yesterday, I find it much harder in the hot weather.
Better get going, have a great day.x
Oh & the person who drove his car into my garage is in court today, I only found out about it Saturday & can't go as have loads of work phone calls this morning but I hope that justice is served!0 -
Good Morning Everyone!
Lovely day here. WM just getting to the end of its cycle so will hang stuff out shortly. One more load to go after that. DH and I are off to IKEA (Lakeside) this morning - I need some small stirage containers to organise my kitchen drawers and we neem to find some new ceiling lights as well. So need to walk Molllie very soon.
Not sure about lunch yet, but having smoked mackerel and salad for supper.
Minor panic late Saturday - we have a fridge freezer in the garage ( not my new freezer, but an old one we inherited from a neighbour). Anyway, suddenly realised the temperature had shot up in the fridge! I had been going to put my older larder fridge on Freecycle, but had to qhickly plug it in and transfer everything. Still, all seems OK, and there was just room in my new freezer to transfer all those contents across too. No idea what caused the fault, but at least we noticed it.
OK time to get on. Hope you all have a good Monday. Take a ((HUG)) if you need one - and take care!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
Morning everyone. Exxes-Girl - I find it more difficult to plan when the weather is hot too. Still, I'm having a go as I have to empty the freezer! Bit overcast here (Andover) this morning, and I'm hoping it will rain, but that said I have loads of washing to do. DS1 up with the larks as normal, DS2 still in bed and OH has developed Manflu overnight, so I've dosed him up with paracetemol and he'll not be going into work today - ho hum. Just looked in Diary, but nothing much planned for today (then I'm living the week at breakneck speed until Friday) so I'll use today to sort out the paperwork and clear the decks ready for whatever the week throws at me!
Meatballs for tea tonight (emptying freezer) and as both boys are in school / nursery today I will sort through their toys and remove the ones not played with very often! Got to meet a friend in Marlow on Thursday for coffee - anyone know of a nice (not too expensive) place to go?
Thanks - love and hugss ((()))Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all,
Beautiful dau here again, we are due some rain later on, but cant see it happening.
This morning I need to do my at home job, that will take me a few hours, and then I will spend a bit of time in the garden, and do an online shop.
We have some brisket left for tea, will do some thing with that, mash and peas maybe.
OH and I went to a boot sale yesterday afternoon, I got my dd a denim jacket (never worn) for £1, and a converse canvas bag, still with label on ($40) for £1, she did not like the bag, so will out that up for my sis for Xmas, got an old glass jug, with tupperware lid which fits on the fridge door, going to fill it with water so that we always have a cold drink to hand.
I forgot I could weigh myself on the wii fit
, so will do that this morning, the weight loss seems to have tailed off a bit, dont think I have gone over my carb limit of the day, but will renew my effort today.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good Morning all, another warm day today.I have the school run this morning then I have to nip down to Argoose to treat my DGS Ben to a webcam as he got a good report from school and I like to buy him a little treat for his efforts.he's picked out the one he would like and its under £6.00 so it won't break the bank.He want to use it to chat to his pals on his games system so I don't object to that and neither does his Mum. Then its back home to sit in the conservatory and do a bit of knitting and to listen to my wireless. very relaxing and hopefully by then the sun will have moved around a bit so it will be cooler in there.I hope everyone has a good day I have no washing to do as I did it on Saturday and ironing is out until the cool of the evening.
take care all

Morning all!
Beemuzed, rather you than me at Ikea! I can't stand the place! It makes me feel claustrophiobic. You go in & can't get back out again & there are no windows!!!!
Today is kitchen cleaning day. Have made a shopping list as well to go to Asda. Have a menu plan in place as well. Bank balance not looking good & a while till payday so need to be careful.
Lovely sunshine again here, we haven't had rain for ages!
Hope you all have a a good day

Morning all
oooh Beemuzed - I love Ikea! I'm a new Ikea convert:D. I like to sit in the tiny house/ flat bit and day dream:D. Not everyone's cup of tea bu I love those tiny houses you get - used to have something about them saved on my favourites but can't remember the names now - tumble something?
Anyway...
Sunny and bright here but a lot of branches down in the park from all the wind yesterday and last night. We went to Queensferry yesterday for a picnic and managed to dodge showers. The sunshine was lovely and we enjoyed sitting looking onto the Forth bridges. Finished off the day with T£sco Finest meal deal - we got the meatballs (wonderful) the sliced potatoes in stock and onions (can't remeber the name), chocolate cheesecake slices (nomnomnom) and a lovely bottle of wine.
Today we are heading north of Aberdeen into the wilderness
to visit my aunty who is in hospital then will take some flowers to the cemetery where my mum and dad are buried. It's a beautiful spot, very peaceful. We'll have a bar lunch so tea tonight will be something like sandwiches. We're taking our youngest dog with us and leaving the oldie. It's too far to be sitting in the car with her stiff hip. My DD will come in and spoil her today.
Ok folks - enjoy your day and (((hugs))) to those who are feeling unwell or upset.

Morning all
Took ages to get to sleep last night then DS2 was up being sick at 2am (thankfully he made the bathroom!) and then DD was wide awake at 6am so I feel fit for nothing today!
Work for me and I have an MS job which will be lunch and then left over chicken which will probably end up being curry with rice for dinner. Not sure about DH as he has fight club.
I straightened the kitchen before I went to bed last night and it seems goblins have been at it before I cam back in..... It can wait until later or I'll delegate while i;m out!
DS1 looks exhausted - he's been working 6 days a week for the last six weeks and he's complaining that his gums and teeth are aching this morning. Don't think he's eating properley as he often skips meals - might start doing him a pack up so I know he's got something decent to eat. Keep an eye on him but he said he's just going to take it easy this week after work and we have a bank holiday weekend next week so he'll get a break then,
Better get off to work!Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness
