I don't know anybody on these boards who was born into money - after all, you're the one who's shacked up with the daughter of someone wealthy enough to own more than one property!

Nobody of your age should be able to claim benefits and it's only those like you who have been daft enough to breed irresponsibly who are able to. Where are both sets of parents in all this or do they too think that their children and their grandchild are someone else's responsibility?

    why should age matter?
if im old enough to get a job and pay taxes then why should i be deemed too young to benefit from taxes?

Im only planning short term at the minute, once me and my girlfriend have settled somewhere and found our feet we will be fine and both be able to get a job, she has done her level 2 health and beauty course but needs to complete her level 3 to be qualified enough to get a job in a salon etc. If i was planning on staying on benefis forever i wouldnt have gone to college for 2 years to gain qualifications to get a job doing something i enjoy, if these people who are posting negative responses took the time to read my posts properly they would know that i plan on getting a job, and no matter what, even if i allready had a job me and my girlfriend would still need a home to live in when the babies born, and my girlfriend would NEED to claim housing benefits, regardless if i was working.

The whole point in making this thread was to see if it would be possible to rent her dads house on housing benefits, it seems like the answer is no so we will find somewhere else even if it means living in a 2 bed roomed flat, i really didnt realise how judgemental people can be about something that really shouldnt worry them, dont worry IL PAY YOU BACK ALL THE TAXES I SPEND WHEN I HAVE A JOB, which will be soon after we are settled in somewhere.

You are taking it much more offensively than at least I meant it. There's no need to write in capitals, I can read lower case fine, lol.

People are (of a sorts at least) trying to give you advice. It may not be coming out as you would hope, but the vast majority of users on here will endeavour to be honest even if they cannot word it as sweetly as you may like to receive it. The benefit of this board is that a lot of these people have at one point worked for benefits or advice agencies and so are giving you the benefit of their knowledge (for free, out of their own time). I think Oldernotwiser said somewhere she used to be a careers advisor, so quite ironic you've picked her (I think it is a her anyway!) to argue with as she could probably help you.

You need to worry about all these things now as when you have a baby, rent to pay, people to feed...it won't give you much time to think and much time to plan. Believe me, you won't even get sleep let alone anything else :rotfl:Best to plan now whilst at the very least you can hear yourself think!

I didnt take your comment offensively and im sorry if it seemed that way and a lot of people have given me helpful advise including you, but people like oldernotwiser are just leaving pointless comments like "you should have kept ur trousers on" there really isnt any need to vent there anger towards the benefit system on me, i know there are people who scrounge off the benefit system through pure lazyness (i live on a council estate so i should know) but i actually want to work and earn money rather than get it given to me, my only problem is finding a house to live in, which is a reasonable request i think.

its not like im asking the tax payer to pay for everything forever, i just need help at the minute to get on my feet.

    Two points:

    1. What are we going to do with all these people that are doing health and beauty courses? It seems to be the course of choice for everyone who did not get good grades and/ or does not know what else to do.

    2. Wasn't sex crap at seventeen? ;)

I would have thought the nation would have been much better looking by now with all these qualified beauticians. I'm not sure about you, but it hasn't made me any prettier! :rotfl:

Nope ;). I'd had a couple of years practice by then ;)

Mind you, in almost 20 years of almost constant sex I've managed never to get pregnant. Mind you, I've never been daft enough to rely just on the pill.............
I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I went to my local college salon two weeks ago - came out looking like a slightly grey stripy badger (and I don't have any grey usually)!

A quick late night trip to Tesco and one box of L'Oreal Preference ... and I am now at the colour I had originally asked for!

I love that the 'contraception failed' line is frequently trotted out. As I have posted more than once the oral combined contraceptive pill is extremely reliable - used correctly.

You are lucky you didn't have a bob on one side and a shaved head on the other. That seems to be the style of choice currently. Tesco couldn't have fixed that for £5.

I can't talk, I left my hair colourant on too long the other day and had a red scalp for a good 24 hours as no amount of scrubbing would shift it. :(
