Oh yes - a day in the life of Superwoman0
-
It is what you have been training for - all those years of multitasking are going to prove their worth over the next few days
I hope the weather holds out for the move - it is looking pretty good so far xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good morning all
Yesterday had no energy whatsoever, had to force myself to go to the fitness room, but I know if I lapse and miss a day it's so easy to miss the next one
I know there's all the positive stuff on the threads at the moment, but some days you have to just force yourself on to get things done too.
Hope today is better as it's the 2nd running day of my 0 to 5k, and I really want to be able to do it by Christmas. The hotel has maps of jogging circuits, and it has 2.5k and 5k routes, so hopefully will use the 2.5k route as an approx halfway mark, so it's good to have an interim goal.
On the 'new me front'. They managed to bruise the finger nail cuticles/nail beds when doing the manicure, so I've now got a book in my amazon basket on how to do manicures and pedicures, it's less than the cost of a manicure and got good reviews. But will see if the info is free online before buying it.
Macgirl - good luck with your superwoman schedule
Have a good day everyone0 -
Hi se999, I'd suggest YouTube for the manicure advice, don't buy a book you'll read once and then apply the practical info. Ouch to the nail beds
My fingertips are tingling in sympathy!!
Macgirl - not much on today then.......ha ha ha ha!! Good luck with it all!!
Morning everyone, is it only Wednesday? Feels like it should be at least Friday....0 -
Oh I agree, se - some days you just have to "be"......I had one of those days on Sunday - thoroughly enjoyed my run in the morning, but then did nothing else from my to do list, and did copious amounts of sofa sitting and coffee drinking! However, that, in turn, meant my energy returned swiftly, because I had chosen to have a lazy day rather than fight the "need" to do lots of house stuff, if that makes sense!
You will certainly be able to get to the 5k by Christmas - my running buddy has her marathon on Sunday, and it will have been 13 weeks since her very first run, when she struggled around the block. She has been amazing and I am very proud of her for what she has achieved so farAnd I have every faith in you too, especially if running routes are provided at the hotel :T

13 weeks sounds amazing to work up to a marathon. I do know it would be easier if I had someone to run with, as I know I don't like letting other people down if I commit to doing something. But OH isn't interested at the moment, and currently with long hours doesn't have the time either. Hope your friends marathon goes well, and she enjoys it.
I've had a quick google and found lots of links re diy manicures. Difficult to judge the good from the bad, there are so many though. Anyway task one is probably to put together a basic shopping list of bits & pieces needed, will probably shop in the England when we're back in a fornight. Once I've got the basic kit together I can start experimenting and practising. Might do a request on the beauty bit of the forum, for ideas and recommendations for the basic kit for manicures and pedicures, unless anyone on here has ideas first0 -
I'm no good at manicures - it is on my list of "wants" for the future, though, to go and treat myself to regular manicures and pedicures
Yes, my running friend has done amazingly well so far, and is looking forward to Berlin on Sunday. There is no denying that running with someone helps, and that is the reason she rang me in the first place, was to make sure that she went out and actually did it. I too benefit from making that commitment to run, so it has helped me along the way as well, as I did not want to let her down, and have actually thoroughly enjoyed my running recently as a result. I hope she continues after the marathon - in fact, she has a half marathon lined up for the end of November, so I am sure she will.
Payday tomorrow, and my weekly banking text has told me that 83p remains in my current account. I call that a result :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
No don't go and blow all that 83p at once, Hypno, you never know when you might need it! Well done for surviving what has obviously been a tight month. One life - your life - live it!0

Hypno why not rope DD in on the DIY manicure/pedicure sessions, it gets over the problems of trying to do things left handed when right handed when you're working on someone else, you could do it as part of girlie pamper sessions at home. I have to sort out OH's nails for work, men actually like being pampered too, so your DS might like a manicure (although might not want to tell his mates).
I did have a book on at home spa weekends/detox, it was really good, especially if there's not the money for the 'real' thing which for most of us is the reality. It's fairly easy to put one together anyway, so maybe something to think about for when you need to schedule in a Hypno treat.
Well done on being 83p in the black :T:T0 -
I can't even do an online transfer for less than £1, so short of going into the branch and asking for my cash, I think there is a fairly good chance of it staying where it is!
DD and I do help each other occasionally with such things, se.....but I am thinking of it as much as part of my planned "me" time as anything else, so it comes on another list
Talking of which, I am getting better at that whole "me time" thing - had a soak in the bath last night with jo malone candles and a lush bath bomb, rather than my usual post-run showerSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground.
