Are you stripping it off with paint stripper? Would it not be easier to wash it, sand it and give it a quick once over?
That is the macgirl way and it works for me! Glossed my kitchen window before brekkie this morning and am doing loads more tomorrow, so I'm with you in spirit!0 -
The majority of it (ie the spindles) and posts will get the shortened version, but the bannister and the "knobs" def need more work. Unfortunately, the previous owners did a bodge job of the paintwork at some point, and it really does need taking back to base in places.
But fear not, I won't be making work any more difficult than I need to!
Happy glossing tomorrow - our kitchen windowsill was done last week. I'm right there with youSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

That is excellent - you can finally start living life as a family
You must be pretty exhausted yourself, not only from the initial trauma, but from the backwards and forwards and not being able to be at home all the time etc.
The next few days will be a period of adjustment for you, I guess, so remember to look after yourself during this time too!

Student has been deposited, so the house is my own again. I have no more students lined up for this summer, so will sort out the spare room so that it is a study again.
I have just sorted out a pile of papers, and to my shame (as I thought I was fairly well on top of things) found £44 of unused clubcard vouchersJust goes to show, doesn't it, that it is v. easy to overlook an envelope or two - these were issued in January
I think that because they arrived during the week that OH announced he was leaving, that I just put stuff to one side to sort out later, and then it got buried.
Still, a very welcome find, and I one which will help us out hugely over the next few weeks/months!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Cocalls, wonderful news that babe is coming home. I can't imagine how excited you must be. I'm sure there will be a lot of joyful tears
Hypno, good luck with the decorating. Hope you can raise cash through the free ebay listing all weekend (open to all). Have you any more books to go on Amazon? Have you put your CDs on play.com?
For quick cash, your only option really is a car boot, but you need decent weather for that, so good luck! When I was going through tough times, the only option for me was cash converters which didn't pay well, but with a budget of £3 pw on food for two people  even little amounts were important. This was pre-internet, so a while ago, but not easily forgotten...0
