  • We've had drama tonight - Izzy managed to fall over backwards on her chair - banged her head on the sofa, and bit through her lip so lots of blood and tears. Luckily tongues heal quick, so I'm sure she will be fine in the morning. Mind you she was pretty much fine by bedtime. she had some more tea afterwards, so she can't have been that sore by that point ;)

DH has fallen asleep on the tv remote, so we are still on cbeebies, with the big red screen saying that it is bed time. I may follow instructions and go put myself to be soon. I'm nackered. I went to bed at 9:45 on Friday night, and Saturday is going to be even earlier. Living the dream baby! (I've just realised that means I will be going to bed earlier than Elija and MOTM's twins  :rotfl:)

    how are you feeling Susan?
Suprisingly good actually. There is still faint nausea around in the background but it hasn't developed into anything. At six weeks last time I was in the middle of losing a stone in less than a week so I'm pretty happy.

I am tired but that's because we all have colds so Alice cries in the night and wakes us and then OH sniffs and throat clears so much it keeps me awake.

ETA: In fact today was absolutely the worst day last time so I'm very ahppy to get past it.

Fairies flying money in your direction Caz :)

MFD, you're right at Chinatown, anywhere there is good :D

Ladybird, how scary! Hopefully she's ok soonest. I find that if you murmur something in the ear of a sleeping man while manhandling whatever they've fallen asleep on they stay asleep.

I'm feeling horrendous, sweaty and chills and horrible pain in my ears. And my shrieky baby has been banished to the other room with Husband to wear herself out :(

Edit: Susan, I hope this is the worst day this time too xxx

  • Susan I'm glad that today has been a much better day for you this time than last time :) Here's hoping you carry on that way!

And poor you SS :( Have you been feeling like this for a while, or are you just coming down with something? Sounds like you've done the right thing though - leave DH in charge for a bit and put your feet up :)

As a matter of interest, how old were little ones before you had them in a bed and without a gate, i.e. theoretically they'd be capable of getting up in the night and running amok? Did anyone have trouble with that? We are unsure about getting babygate or not at the mo.
We were using a broom handle under the door handle to keep Alice from wandering at night. Relatively recently (not long after she turned three), we replaced it with a windchime which alerts us to any door opening which in retrospect we could quite easily have done ages ago. She actually only ever comes out of her room to find us anyway so the night time disasters I was afraid of have never happened. The windchime is actually very effective - the other evening Alice had gone to bed but then about ten minutes later she started shouting, "Daddy". I was int he living room and he was in the kitchen so I shouted to him a few times that she was calling to him and then gave up. She then started opening her door to come out (which is what we've told her to do - she used to stay in her room and cry until we heard her) and instantly OH ran into the hall shouting, "Alice, what are you doing?"

MOTM I'm glad you enjoyed the gadgetshop sale - I love it when you find absolute bargains like that :money: when their stuff is full price it's a dreadful ripoff, but I think the value is more than the cost for most of the clearance stuff.

It sounds as if, with todays events and the other day when you posted, you have a little wanderer on your hands. Going to grow up to be one of those people you can never get hold of :p

Yes, some of the stuff isn't worth the full price, infact most of it. The Moo Cube moneyboxes at £4.99 will go down well and bought some silly little things like sumo thumb wrestlers and an office work joke book or something for relatives that I wish weren't :D

Got quite a bit for little over £20 inc delivery

Ouch. I'm well aware of the 'not well, but want more to eat' situation. They have great recovery times do youngsters ;)

:rotfl:Early nights are good. And the twins are big girls now apparently. They have two digits as their age, so it means they are grown up ;)

You may find something on the TV yet, if you can wedge that remote out from under OH. I usually have the other problem, I can't wedge myself out from underneath Lucy when she's fallen asleep on me. The only positive is the girls, if they are up and around, have to get me food and drink. It just means I can't go to the loo :o

    **rant alert**

Im very pee'd off now. The other day i posted on fb that i bought Lily some next size up stuff, and that girl replied asking if i got it from next. I said 'no i got it from Peacocks'
And now i've seen a convo on her fb saying that clothes from Asda & Peacocks are tacky
My favourite dress of Alice's is from Peacock's. I absolutely love it and if they had had it in different colours and sizes I would have bought loads. I think some of their stuff is hideous but I could say the same about any shop.

They have years until they are happy to go bed early:p. Anyway, school on Thursday, so Wednesday night they'll be back in bed by 8.30 (although they'll try and push it to 9!)
