Sorry about your grandad Michelle (((hugs))) Nice that your last memory is of having taken Ayana to see him though.

MFD what about something like this. I think a squash ball might float?

Right - I need the PT brains :D

I want to buy DSS some balls that sink to the bottom of a swimming pool so he could dive to get them but I can't seem to find any....

    Any ideas peeps?
MFD cheap boules (sp?) set? They're heavy aren't they? If you can find them though I guess.

Just what I was thinking SJ, something like this http://www.wowestores.co.uk/kids-toys-and-gear%2FFamily-games%2Ffamily-game-plastic-boules-set.htm

  • I have been researching on the web for a book case for Katies room, as she had 5 boxes of books.

I've seen ones in Ikea and Homebase, I've looked on some other sites and the prices are :eek::eek:.

I'm leaning more towards the Ikea one as the rest of her bedroom furniture is white.

It all depends on the height though as it needs to go below her window sill, which is fairly low.

  • If golf balls sink then a golf ball is easy enough :D ....but I love those MDW!!! Oh but the CLAMS MICHELLE!!!!

    You ladies know EVERYTHING!!!

Michelle, I am so sorry to hear about your grandad. That is a beautiful photo, brought tears to my eyes, you should get it printed so A can always see how much he loved her.

Hubby's dad died 15 years ago now, so before DSS was born, but DSS can tell you loads about his grandad - hubby talks about him all the time. Even now he tells Benjamin that his grandad wouldn't like him doing that or grandad used to be really good at this. Keeping the memory alive is very important.

I come from a family where all my grandparents died before I was born and I know very little about any of them because my parents don't often speak of them. I find it very sad.

  • MFD - we'll have to do that with grandparents on DH's side as they both died when he was in his 20s.

I had it growing up off my mum as her mum died when she was 16 and her brother when I was 8 months old.

My gran and grandad both had milk rounds - a representative of their old dairy even attended my grandads funeral. The dairy also used to send him a hamper every Christmas which we got the pick of.

The best legacy I've been left - being a tea drinker, I grew up in a house of coffee drinkers, I can't stand the stuff, but whenever I went round to his house I got a little glass teacup filled with tea and a biscuit - I still have the cup.
