Pre-baby, we had some weeks where we'd spend £15, just on top-up bits. Since having Caitlin, things have been creeping up so would like to cut them back down again and put the extra into savings. We mealplan monthly which helps loads and I do have quite a large store cupboard, plus two freezers.

We've grown carrots, peas, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatos, spring onions and courgettes this year, plus have had a few lots of runner beans and potatoes from my dad, so that's helped bring the bills down a bit too.

    Ooh, have fun Aless.

I'm just reading up on the home made Christmas pressie thread on the Special Occasions board and getting all inspired. I fancy having a crack at making some chutneys and some limoncello. I might also make some biscuits as pressies closer to the time (obviously).

Glad to hear you had good/better bedtimes 3 and MDW.

I was just thinking the other day that I will need to bake all my Christmas cakes soon  Might make some sort of chutneys or something else to give with them too. I fancy an MSE Christmas this year! Plus I think it's lovely to have spent time and effort on a present rather than money. Only trouble with making lots of cakes though is space for storing them!

Well I am home alone. Going to go to bed soon and enjoy an uninterrupted sleep. Bliss. I hope everyone else has as good a night. Fab news about better bedtimes all round anyway.

Ooh in my exciting news of the day I get to drive a van tomorrow, well all week actually. I've hired a big van to help move some stuff, got it from tomorrow until Thursday. It probably doesn't sound that exciting to anyone else but I love driving vans!

Aless - is the £100 challenge a challenge on here, or is it something you're doing yourself using Weezl's site?

I try to have really quick and easy things on Tues, Wed and Thurs each week as they are the days I work and I like to spend my time after work with Caitlin instead of cooking. We don't start cooking until after she's in bed, so quick and easy on these nights is good if we want to sit down before 9pm!

MFD - Thanks again, very much appreciated! You have mail

    :iloveyou:

Have returned it. I think I will change my career to make sure people sell themselves effectively!! My CV reads like I am the most talented person in the world...which of course I am...but if my CV isn't going to show me off and sing my praises then no f00ker else will do it for me!!

*'scuse my French but sometimes I think it is needed....or maybe it is the can and a half of lager that I have drunk!*

I think I would like to be an agony aunt :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have no idea how much we spend on groceries - too much for sure. I would love to budget properly and meal plan but every time I try something crops up and we end up getting take out or deciding we don't fancy what I'd planned. And we top up with bits and pieces every other day. We're not going to be able to be so lax soon as I'll be on zero wage so I might have to be stricter with my plans and buying (and definitely with DH's!)

I always make homemade cranberry sauce for family and friends for christmas and it always goes down well! I hate cranberry personally but it makes me feel christmassy!!

Very :money: Glam! Are they looking to rent somewhere smaller and rent their house to you then? Thats what we're planning to do with my nan and her house, just need to find her royal pickyness somewhere to go first ;)

No, they have their own place and enough ££££ to buy somewhere else without a mortgage. :D:D

We will probably get the house eventually :o (:D)

Jack is the main thing, they will have him 1 day and so will IL's so only 3 days childcare to worry about ;)

MFD - you are an angel :A I shall edit tomorrow as partaking in some alcoholic beverages at the moment so not the best time to revise a CV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SJ - I have a quick question for you.....do you do Sugar Craft as well as cake baking? And do you know how long things made from sugarcraft keep for? (so you can still eat them)
