MOTM - my DH has the HTC desire too and loves it. He's on it all the time (I want to break it sometimes lol) but he doesn't do much typing on it.

Daft thing is, I don't really need such a special phone. £400 (PAYG) and I don't use most of it. I only have it so can call/text the girls and check the internet occasionally. Could have got a much cheaper one, but ho hum, i'm sure i'll enjoy it more one day.
  • Krystal - I wish I'd done that - I've definately said never again.

    Morning all,
Im on the laptop as DH is home so he can watch Lily :D

He's only home as he has Impetigo, he went to the treatment centre this morning and they said to stay away from me and Lily :(

Didn't get on last night, but we got Lily re weighed and she is now 16lbs 5ozs, they want me to get her weighed fortnightly just to make sure her weight gain doesn't cause her to drop anymore centiles. The HV said that GP's prefer to see babies/children who are skinny and have ribs showing as babies are getting to fat now days :S

Also, we have 2 teeth!! :j :j I was asking about Lily's lack of eating and the HV asked if she had teeth. I said no as there weren't any when i checked the day before. But when i felt her gums there i felt two little pin pricks :j

Now they have come up a bit more, you can see the tops of them in two little holes in her gums :)

She was chewing my finger earlier and was being really gentle, she's soooo cute :):)
  • Morning everyone,

Someone remind me why i agreed to a hamster, its just something else to worry me lol. it doesnt seem to have figured out its water bottle yet, it creates a little puddle and i saw it drinking a bit out of the puddle last night but agrh!! its this cage we have, and reading reviews alot of hamsters dont manage the 'modern' water bottle.. booo looks like i'll be shopping for a new cage later!!!

cant be bothered doing anything today but jasmine is determined to trash the house im sure of it! she never stops!

  • Right - I have been turned down for a second interview for the job I want because I haven't got any experience in the specific role that they are looking for. Which p1sses me off because they knew that before I went to the first interview - my application letter was very explicit that I hadn't done that job before but that I had skills which were appropriate and transferable and had much more to offer in addition.

The thing is that I would be perfect for this job and I really feel that the company is right up my street.

    Would you:

    a) send a CV into the company directly (first interview was done by an 'executive recruitment company') hard copy and come clean that you have been in touch with the recruitment company and you know about the position

    b) email a CV saying you are scouting for work closer to home (it is 9 miles away from my house and they are very proud of employing local people) and do they have anything suitable

    c) Bow out gracefully and admit it might not have been 'my' job after all.

    d) None of the above - I have a much better idea!!! (please elaborate)

Honest opinions please - but be gentle, I am gutted :(

V&B are still winning in the Stokke contest with 42 and 38 likes, but someone's creeping up behind with 33 - if you've not voted please do ;)

Edit: MFD, I would contact the company directly and send in your CV. I probably wouldn't mention the recruitment company but play the local angle and say you've heard about the job and since your skills are transferable rather than direct you wanted to make sure they got your CV in case the recruiters passed you by and you're very very keen. I also wouldn't worry about it - my ex has a PhD in physics and was turned down for a research position because he had a 2:2 instead of a 2:1 degree in experimental physics and the recruitment agent refused to believe that a PhD was better.
