EA, I can say that charting is a bit of guesswork at best. When I got pregnant last year, my dates were definitely out of sync with my chart...I had thought I OVed over a week before I actually did...and I even had fairly stable temps!

:rotfl: in fantasy world, I'd already be using it again! ;) but done lots of calculating re: working and may start TTC early next year, we shall see.

What's for you won't go past you
  • :rotfl:I think we should all turn up at that one just to look at the look on Glam's OH's face :rotfl:.

Me too - especially seeing as I haven't told my DH of our plans yet :D Mind you, my DH is putty so to speak ;)

Susan- I had morphine and diclofenac after my c-section and I think I was pretty lucid. I guess it depends on the individual's reaction to the drugs (and I guess the dose).

I am on high dose pethidine daily and I am lucid (mostly.... depending on exactly how badly D sleeps .......) so tolerance is very relevant.

I'm not sure what to put about emergencies. Last time I put in provision that preferences could be ignored in the event of an emergency but I feel that that just gave them carte blanche to ignore whatever they wanted. Last time of the 14 statements on my plan, seven were ignored. Of the seven which weren't, two were provision for circumstances which didn't arise, one was that OH would be present, one was about what pain relief I would consider and one was agreement to a standard procedure.
I found my second birth a completely different experience to my first. The first time around I was practically ignored the whole time eg, despite asking to go into the pool and being put into the delivery suite with the pool, my sister had to ask 4 times before they started filling it, and I only got 15mins in there before I delivered... The second time around was a completely different experience. They couldn't chat to me enough, they asked me my preferences when they booked me in and again at shift change. They spoke to me about every thing they did and made it my decision. The only thing I'm a bit miffed about now is the pethidine they offered me while I was in transition... I think if she'd have observed me at the time rather than assuming I wasn't coping she would have seen how close I was to delivery. But at least this time I can make a point about that.

You might find none of the scenarios that occured with Alice's birth are an issue this time around and I'm sure there would be no worry of an emergency situation. However, I would be inclined to brief OH / Doula on what your choices would be if various situations arose as they will be your voice while you are otherwise engaged.
oh you've got to be kidding me ........ my printers just packed in  .. well i dont packed in but refusing to work .. krystal can i ask a favour pretty please .. can you printer me off a 30% of voucher for tomorrow .. its ok if you cant though x
Sorry chick, no printer ink for about 6 months now... They should have the leaflets in the station though, that's what we did last time... I'll see if I've got any spare though...

I'm not sure whether to get a day bus/train ticket... Or just pay myself on the bus and then buy myself and Aimee a train ticket... I never pay for her on the bus... But there's more chance of an inspector on the train lol...

SJ, I'm very :( at not seeing you and the gorgeous Alfie again tomorrow... I demand you post me a cupcake by way of compensation for my disappointment...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Sure but mine are on paper so I'll have to scan them in. (I'll do it tomorrow though because OH already thinks it's a bit weird that I have online friends as it is.)

Thanks. I'm hoping that with a homebirth I will have a better midwife who wouldn't be doing things like force me to give birth on my back when I say I don't want to (and the NICE guidelines say they should encourage women not to give birth on their back because it is the worst position to do it in) but I'd be totally kicking myself if they did one of the things they did last time and I hadn't written it down.

Grr, wrote a post and lost it :(

This is my 2nd 'real' cycle since birth, so at the moment it is alot of guesswork.
Pre Lily is was 32 days and OV on day 18, simples *squeak* :rotfl:

We were going to wait until Lily was 6 months, but i didn't want to wait. She's nearly 6 months anyway so didn't matter so much.

    Thanks, i'll have a nosy in a sec :D
