But at this point I'd suggest availing of a free 30 minutes with a solicitor and perhaps also Watchdog - the solicitor coupled with the "cancel the paypal dispute, it's in both our interests and BTW I hear there's a problem with some property damage..." makes me a bit concerned.

When you reply to the solicitor ask for a mailing address and mention as if by accident "as can be confirmed by two independent witnesses" in case she's told him a pack of lies

I didn't really because Alice didn't like it. I think you just have to go with what you and your baby are happy with. If he doesn't like it, he'll soon let you know.

They've closed the dispute because;

If you still have concerns about this transaction, we encourage you to continue to work directly with the seller for an amicable resolution

CAFC - just until he starts whinging, so not very long. Haven't attempted any these last couple of days with the mood he's been in. HV told me to start trying at 6 weeks and just do it for a couple of mins each time.

Me too! I find it quite unsettling when people say that to be honest! I do not have a list, just sometimes agree with some people on some things, and sometimes agree with other people on others. I mostly :heartpuls everybody on here! In fact, shock horror, my RL friends and I don't have the same views or thoughts on everything either, so I certainly don't expect people on here to!

Has anyone been watching the Amish teenagers thing on C4 (last night)? Not really surprisingly, since I knew a fair amount about the Amish, but still interesting to see them in Britain.

I watched that documentary last night and found it really interesting. I think it was a series but I only watched last night's.

I don't think the thread is cliquey, and I do think that folks generally are very welcoming of newbies. I do think that some of us (me included) have a few fellow posters whose children were born at a similar time and so I do probably answer their questions and posts more readily since I am going through similar things at the moment too!

That said I am always happy to offer my hypothetical advice to others, on any subject, be it babies, feeding, dresses, shoes, cupcakes :rotfl:. I love the diversity of chat on here, and it makes me sad when things get out of hand and people leave .

I'll miss your mummy (and nanny) advice Tara!

3- I agree with SS that the solicitor thing is probably positive, but the paypal thing is a PITA.

I am a very laid back person, most of the time, and I'm not sure whether things like that come across in writing as they do in RL!

Our dog is really doing my head in today..... to the point where im like i dont know if i can do it with both of them. He's being really attention seeking, i know its a massive adjustment for him and when L is sleeping I do try to spend time just with the dog, playing, stroking etc but then im also trying to get some rest in for myself as well as Im now having issues with DH..... and its all getting a bit ARGH!

I would let him just have small bursts of it, if he gets agitated then leave it at that... Also, remember having him laying against your chest is also tummy time...

I'm probably not the best person to ask about dogs... I had 2 when Aimee was born but the older one had an inoperable tumour and was very old... My Mum paid for him to be kennelled in the end because I couldn't cope, and then the little one got so sad and lonely I ended up re-homing him with a family with slightly older children... I was sad to see them both go, but also very relieved...

No we don't all answer every post and we don't always bother to catch up but I don't believe people are deliberately ignored. I think those that find it cliquey are maybe those that don't make an effort to chat...


I would not agree that people who find it cliquey are those who dont make an effort to chat ..... When you post something and get no response or welcome then that will put you off posting again . I think it reasonable to think you have been ignored in them circumstances. I only saw what recently went up about the birmingham meet and was commenting on that post alone ....as i was not on the parenting thread last year i have no idea what was being arranged then .... i have looked back through this thread and some posters do think that what they say on this thread is sometimes not answered too or they think their input is ignored. That is my opinion on this and this will be the last comment i make about it .

We've had a barbecue. All my girls invited at least one friend and two mummies came along as well. Three of daughter's friends are now staying the night, so I have to behave now!

Stupid paypal. Their 'notes' will make no difference. Let's hope MP's letter makes some difference.

Bastage camp, I think i'm sitting waiting for her response via her solicitor.
I might have a search around tomorrow to book a free half hour for advice.
