I don't really agree with you on some points here - SM didn't just decide to have a meet in Birmingham - it was after quite a lot of thought into where might be easier to meet and she actually asked everyone on the thread several times where they thought the meet should take place. She has done a fantastic job organising it.
There was actually a lot of discussion about having a "big meet" last year and although it never happened, Birmingham seemed to be the general consensus then.

While I don't agree that everyone should be expected to say if they're not going to the meet and why I do agree with the rest of redstar's post.

I think the thread can appear cliquey but once you get stuck in and post it's not all. I am fairly new here and I have asked a lot of questions :o and have had a lot of very helpful answers from most people on here. I found everyone very welcoming and encouraging :) I'd say more but I have a crying baby lol

Oh let's not start another one of 'these' debates again - it always ends with someone flouncing off, and I hate losing PT members :o.

What's everyone having for dinner? I've done curry baked chicken thighs which I'm going to do over buttery rice with peas :).

Has anyone been watching the Amish teenagers thing on C4 (last night)? Not really surprisingly, since I knew a fair amount about the Amish, but still interesting to see them in Britain.

I've been a bit naughty and had a frozen pizza :) Wish I had a big bar of choccie for pudding.

Sounds lovely aless. I had some pork, and I am about to forage for some tea and toast.

Yeah I grew up in Lichfield, where they were stood outside the church is the market place and the church is called St Marys centre... Old people congregate there daily... My Nan always takes us in for a cup of tea when we meet her in town... :D

And my friend lives just around the corner from the Essington Fruit farm, she's always telling me how good the meat is!

And hubby is just cooking us battered cod fillets and french fries... I did do all the veg for a shepherds pie but felt too sick to cook it... WIll try again tomorrow lol...

It's been said it's cliquey a couple of times but I don't think it is. At the end of the day when people are online they chat to whoever else is online. Posts don't get ignored on purpose and most of the time if someone flies in and asks a question they get welcomed and replied to pretty much straight away by a number of different people.

No we don't all answer every post and we don't always bother to catch up but I don't believe people are deliberately ignored. I think those that find it cliquey are maybe those that don't make an effort to chat...
I agree - generally I don't answer a question if I come along and find lots of people have already answered unless I don't realise because I haven't caught up before replying or it's something where I feel I can make a useful addition to what has already been said. By the same token, when I've asked questions etc. I usually find I get up to three replies and these have always been sufficient. Certain topics result in more discussion and some things are only relevent if you are there at the time so response to things naturally varies but not because people are ignoring or only responding to certain people. I sometimes feel there are people I haven't talked to much but generally that is because they have been talking about things I can't contribute very much to like formula feeding, weaning with purees, childcare and going back to work and I've probably been talking about things that they can't contribute much to but I never think that they're not speaking to me and I am certainly never actively not speaking to anyone.

We're having pizza from the pizza shop.

I think EmLou said she was watching it. I haven't seen it but I did see a documentary on iPlayer (I think from BBC4) about the FLDS which was interesting (but very sad).
